The calm before the arrival of our children to Druridge Bay Country Park. We’re looking forward to a day of bird watching, nature walks, a picnic and fun on the beach (and maybe a surprise treat!)

What an amazing time Year 4 have had at Newby Wiske this year. We have been climbing, fencing and abseiling. We been on the lake on a giant paddle board, played archery and whizzed down the zip line. The children have been fabulous, they have shown so many of our Rothbury First School character values…….resilience, independence, courage, confidence, kindness, empathy, determination, ambition, collaboration and critical thinking. What superstars they have been! We are very proud of each and every one of them. We’re homeward bound and the bus is very very quiet 💤

Just a couple of quotes from Newby Wiske today, photos to follow later
‘I’ve had so much fun, it’s been amazing and I can’t believe that it’s only been half a day. There’s still so much more to come!’
‘It’s like being on holiday but ten times better!’

Year 4 were so excited leaving school today ahead of their residential tomorrow. Hopefully they’re all packed and good to go in the morning (staff too!) The forecast is not as kind as last year, but we hope to dodge the showers and stay dry! Keep a look out for updates from their adventures over the coming days.
