When a group of bright Year 5 and 6 girls at Holy Family Catholic School were underperforming in Maths, the school turned to active learning to change the story.

📢 Important update: PE and Sport Premium

The Department for Education has announced an increase to the one-off transition payment for the 2026/27 academic year, rising from £100 million to £150 million.

The announcement also includes information on:
• Funding allocations
• When schools will receive the funding
• Partnership network delivery from April 2027
• Publication of updated guidance

🏁 Lesson of the Week: Grand Prix Grid

Who says times tables can't be thrilling? In this Year 3 favourite, children set up their own Grand Prix track with cones, race down to grab a question card, then dash back to solve it as part of their "Formula 1 Team."

First team to complete their grid correctly wins the race! 🏆

It's active, it's competitive (in the best way), and it's quietly building fluency in multiplication and division — including those trickier missing number and scaling problems.
