Toothill Leavers Week 💚🌿

Parents joined us throughout the week for woodland activities, making memories and sharing some emotional goodbyes around the campfire. 🔥

A particularly poignant week for us, as some of our leavers have been with us since they were just 9 months old, when Toothill first opened. Watching them grow into confident little explorers has been incredibly special. 🥹

We kept cool with our hydration station creating yummy electrolyte drinks, made nature frames ready to fill with our favourite Forest School memories, and gifted each leaver a commemorative wood cookie around the campfire. 🌿📸

A special week filled with laughter, love and a few tears. We’re so proud of you all and can’t wait to see where your next adventures take you! 💚🌲✨

MLE Summer Family Party! ☀️🎉

One of our favourite events of the year, and the perfect opportunity to spoil our wonderful team and show them just how much we appreciate everything they do. 💚

This year, we had a bouncy castle, BBQ, pizza making, garden games and a surprise visit from Bella’s Gelato ice cream van! 🍦🎈

A huge thank you to some of our incredibly generous Toothill families who contributed towards the ice cream van as a special thank you to the team. The surprise definitely went down a treat! 🥰

We also said goodbye to a few team members as they move on to new adventures, making it a lovely — and slightly emotional — chance to celebrate together.

And of course, we couldn’t let the dogs miss out on the fun either… even they got to enjoy some ice cream! 🐶🍦

Right, let’s have a good old catch-up! 🌿 Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing some of the wonderful moments from our very busy summer — from saying goodbye to our school leavers to adventures at our summer activity camps!

We’re starting with a bittersweet week at Farley Mount (MLE Wi******er) as we said goodbye to some of our wonderful school leavers at the end of July. 💚

It was lovely to see our MLE community come together to celebrate their time with us. Families joined us for den building, stories and a chance to revisit their little explorer’s forest school home — with lots and lots of cake consumed along the way! 🍰😋

Of course, there were plenty of emotions as we shared their learning journals too — filled with photos and memories from their adventures with us. A little keepsake to treasure as they begin their next exciting chapter. 🌲✨

🌊 Toothill takes on Beach Week 2026! ☀️

Last week, some of our explorers enjoyed a fantastic week at Avon Beach. A much-loved MLE tradition spanning almost 14 years, we swapped our dusty woodlands for sandy shores once again!

🐳 From exploring fascinating rocks and seashells, creating rock pools, and riding the waves on our trusty “boat” (paddleboard), to using our bushcraft skills to craft beautiful seashell necklaces, our explorers adapted to and embraced the environment with ease. On the windier days, we transformed blankets into pirate dens and settled down with seaside stories.

It takes plenty of planning and an amazing team to make Beach Week happen, but seeing the children’s enjoyment makes every moment worth it. 💙🏖️

This week we have been learning all about Bees at our Wi******er site 🐝 🐝

Sophie (one of our lovely practitioners) is a bee keeper so bought in all her equipment which the children found fascinating.

They also really enjoyed trying some local honey from Otterbourne and some of Sophies honey which has set on a frame.

What a wonderful few weeks at Toothill enjoying the beauty of May! 🌿🐞 From hunting for beetles, caterpillars and spiders to creating mini-beast crafts and our extra-long wood cookie caterpillar🐛✨

We also celebrated World Bee Day with lots of black and yellow activities and delicious crumpets toasted on the fire with local honey! 🐝🍯🔥

Welcoming in the month of May with dancing around the maypole, watching colourful patterns come to life, hapazome, and creating beautiful flower crowns to celebrate Beltane 🌼✨

We shared stories together in the peaceful woodlands and our preschoolers had a brilliant time experimenting with gravity on the slide! 💛🌿
