Congratulations to our Embley class of 2026! 👏✨

Today our brilliant Year 13 students celebrated another year of fantastic academic and personal achievements, with 65% of all A Level grades awarded at A* to B - the top grades needed for entry to some of the UK’s most prestigious universities. Subject highlights included 100% of grades at A–B* in Further Mathematics, Art & Design, 3D Design and Photography.

Our students are now heading off on a wide range of exciting pathways, from first-choice university destinations to degree apprenticeships and beyond. Among them is former Head of School, Layla (A*AA), who goes on to study Maths with Management & Finance at King’s College London. Whilst students Lydia (A*A*B) and Annabelle (A*A*B), have chosen to take time to explore their options before taking the next step.

We are incredibly proud of all our students, not only for their hard work and dedication, but for the growth they have shown throughout their time at Embley, developing into capable, confident young people ready to take on the next chapter of their lives.

We can’t wait to see where their journeys take them!

During the summer term, Year 5 demonstrated how much their scientific skills have grown by conducting independent investigations 🧑‍🔬🧪

They were challenged to design experiments that would produce data suitable for plotting in a graph. The experience gave our pupils the opportunity to apply everything they have learnt in their Science Skills lessons and encouraged them think critically and learn from any mistakes along the way.

There were some fantastic investigations on display. One group explored whether ice cubes melted at different rates depending on what was frozen inside them, while another investigated how much alkali was required to neutralise the pH of an acid.

More than 10 years after joining Embley Prep, our former Heads of School, Layla and Ollie, closed Speech Day with a heartfelt vote of thanks, reflecting on the friendships, opportunities and experiences that shaped their journey at Embley.

With characteristic humour, they even fondly recalled being crowned ‘Mum and Dad’ after a Year 6 residential – a title that has clearly stood the test of time and reflects the friendship and support they have shared throughout their Embley journey.

As they hand over to the next Heads of School team and prepare for exciting futures beyond Embley, we thank them for their outstanding service, dedication and leadership. They leave a legacy of kindness, integrity and commitment that embodies everything we value as a school.

Meet our Boarder of the Year! 🤩✨

Congratulations to Year 10 student Pia, who received the Boarder of the Year award at Embley Speech Day, recognising the incredible impact she has made on our boarding community.

The adventure began with two days of practice where they learnt all about sailing the 38ft yacht Eastern Star. Students then had to chart a planned route around the Solent, deciding their own mooring locations and planning a menu for everyone on board.

Throughout the expedition, students demonstrated their excellent teamwork and navigation skills including. They also embraced the challenges of life on board including navigating at night, cooking in the confined galley kitchen and tackling the washing up in choppy waters! Not only did our students successfully complete their silver expedition, they also achieved their RYA Competent Crew certification.
