I have been in this industry for 9 years now! Oh how time flies when you’re having fun 🥳
But I haven’t always been a nail artist, I was once just a beginner.
Let’s roll back 9 years ago... I was 18/19 working in childcare and wishing I was my own boss. I wanted freedom over the hours I worked & to be able to make as much money as I could muster... I knew being on minimum wage and working 43 hours every week wasn't the way to do that!
So, I got qualified in nails - acrylic extensions to be exact - then I went on to do my mani and pedi training, then gel training and on it went... I got qualified in everything I wanted to do including spray tans, waxing, tinting, lash lifting, hairdressing and more.
But ultimately I kept coming back to nails - gel polish actually...
I remember working from my little flat in Swindon, offering clients free art with their manicures to build my portfolio. I didn’t know what I was doing, I didn’t know what tools to buy, I didn’t know what paint or gel polish to use, I didn’t know how to make those gorgeous floral looks. I did my best but I didn’t know anything about nail art! If only I had someone to show me the ropes back then!
Fast forward 9 years, I am now one of the directors and educators for The Nail Art Academy, I also own a salon called which is where the academy will reside too!
