We know many families are currently hearing conversations about childcare funding across Wales, and we wanted to take a moment to explain things openly and honestly.

At the moment, funding rates for government-funded childcare places for the coming year have still not been confirmed. This makes it very difficult for nurseries to plan ahead, set budgets, and make decisions that ensure we can continue providing the high-quality care and learning experiences your children deserve.

We are incredibly proud to offer funded childcare places and to support local families. However, the funding provided does not always cover the full cost of delivering childcare, and like many nurseries, we are often left trying to balance rising costs while keeping fees as affordable as possible.

Our priority has always been — and will continue to be — supporting children and families, while also making sure our nursery remains sustainable for the future. We are committed to keeping childcare costs to a minimum wherever we can, but not at the expense of the quality of care, our staff team, or the long-term stability of the nursery.

We hope that clear and timely funding decisions will be made soon so that nurseries across Wales can continue to support their communities with confidence.

If your child turns 3 between 1st January and 31st March 2026, you can receive childcare offer funding, if you're eligible, from the 13th April 2026. You can apply for the funding NOW by visiting www.gov.wales/childcare
