Dyslexia Intervention Team - Introducing Siรขn Gillies! ๐ŸŒŸ

Siรขn has been a qualified teacher for 30 years, working in a range of schools, but always with a particular interest in supporting students with SEND. She has specifically supported students with Dyslexia for the last 9 years, gaining qualifications and further training with the British Dyslexia Association, PATOSS, Brighton University and Middlesex University to enhance her work. She loves working with the students at Northease who always bring something different with them when they walk through the door. She enjoys planning individual approaches and activities that will appeal to their particular interests and strengths โ€“ current themes include skateboarding and horror movies! The most rewarding part is seeing them grow in confidence and as a result, realising for themselves, just how much they can achieve. โค๏ธ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

Thank you for everything you do at Northease, Siรขn! We are very lucky to have you ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ†โšฝ๏ธGirls Albion Cup 2026 โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ†

The girls football team had the opportunity to attend the Girls Albion Cup last Monday, marking the very first football tournament for the girls at Northease, and they did absolutely amazing! ๐Ÿคฉ

They played 9 matches back-to-back, and after all their hard work, they finished in an impressive 4 place. The team showed brilliant teamwork and their determination was evident, as they gave their all, working together and supporting each other throughout every match, making the day a memorable experience for all involved.๐Ÿ’™

They should be incredibly proud of themselves, especially as for many, it was their very first football match, and they played
exceptionally well. Well done, Team! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’™ Meet Atticus โ€“ Our Wonderful Therapy Dog! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿถ

Atticus is a beautiful four-year-old Cocker Spaniel (turning five this November ๐ŸŽ‰) who proudly passed his therapy dog exams with the amazing charity Canine Concern, which allowed him to begin his important role at Northease Manor School.

Since then, Atticus has become a much-loved member of the school community. He absolutely loves coming into school because it means plenty of cuddles, attention, and gentle fuss from all the lovely children โ€“ who seem to adore him just as much as he enjoys them! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿพ

When heโ€™s not hard at work being a therapy dog, Atticus enjoys the simple pleasures in life. His favourite activity (just like his friend Poppy!) is finding the muddiest puddle or patch of water possible and happily sitting right in the middle of it! ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿพ While Atticus thinks this is the best fun ever, it apparently causes a bit of trouble for Mr Bennett, who has to deal with the muddy aftermath in his car and around the house thanks to Atticusโ€™s wonderfully long Cocker Spaniel fur. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿงผ

Atticus also has quite the social life! He has a girlfriend โ€“ another lovely Cocker Spaniel named Frankie ๐Ÿ’• โ€“ and one of his best friends is a kitten called Mouse ๐Ÿฑ.

Atticus is owned by Tabitha, who happens to be Mr Bennettโ€™s daughter. In fact, when Atticus first arrived, Mr Bennett famously said he didnโ€™t want a dog at all. Tabitha, however, insists that โ€œAtticus is the best present a father never wanted!โ€ ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿถ

Weโ€™re so lucky to have Atticus as part of our school family, spreading happiness, comfort, and plenty of wagging-tail joy wherever he goes! ๐Ÿพโœจ

๐Ÿ“šโœจ World Book Day! โœจ๐Ÿ“š

World Book Day arrived at Northease Manor School last Friday as pupils and staff celebrated by dressing up as their favourite book characters. It was lovely to see so many people getting involved, and there were some brilliantly inventive costumes around the school this year. ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿง™โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ“–

The day was filled with various events, including a bake sale ๐Ÿฐ, a quiz ๐Ÿง  and a scavenger hunt ๐Ÿ”Ž, along with lots of book-themed activities taking place across the school โ€“ all celebrating a shared love of reading.

A big well done to our costume competition winners: Dom B, who took the staff prize with his brilliant Tigger costume; Logan with his Cyberman costume; Araya with her homemade Ronaldo kit and Charlotte who won with her brilliant Foxy from Five Nights at Freddieโ€™s outfit. All were very deserving winners โ€“ although there were so many great costumes on display!

We look forward to doing it all again next year!
