Members of our Local Governing Body and Trust had a wonderful opportunity to meet children from Years 3 to 6 this week to gain an insight into Pupil Voice. As always, our children were a credit to our school articulating their views clearly and passionately.

The outbreak of meningitis in Kent has been heavily covered in the news and may be causing anxiety in Essex. The public health team at Essex County Council have said that there is no increased risk to anyone in Essex unless they have a direct link to a case of meningitis in the Kent outbreak and been contacted by the UK Health Security Agency. Simply being a contact of a person with a direct link does not increase the risk. If you would like to know more about the outbreak and how it is managed there is an update on the UK Health Securities webpage.

Congratulations to our fabulous World Book Day costume winners!

Last month, our whole RPS community came together for the Macmillan Steps Challenge 💚

Every department. Every role. One goal.

We set ourselves a target of 1 million steps to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

There were lunchtime laps.
After-school walks.
Step-count check-ins in the staffroom.
A little healthy competition.
And a lot of teamwork 💚
The support, encouragement and determination across the school has been incredible.

So… did we reach our 1 million step goal?
Yes.

But we didn’t just reach it…

We absolutely SMASHED it.

💚 2,162,302 steps walked as a school community! 💚
💚 £305 raised (and counting!) 💚

We are so proud of every single person who took part and helped make a difference.

Together, we really do go further.

On World Book Day Thursday 5th March, we will be inviting parents into classrooms to read with their child or children.

Classrooms are available for reading between 8:40am - 9:10am.

Leanna will be our visiting author on World Book Day. If children buy the book and bring in next Thursday she will sign them.
