Our wonderful dancers took to the stage at the Dance Festival at the Palace Theatre in Southend, and they were absolutely fantastic! 🌟 Their confidence, energy and talent shone throughout the performance, and we could not be prouder of them.

A huge well done to all the children involved for representing our school so brilliantly – you were a joy to watch and should be incredibly proud of yourselves! 💙👏

🎄 A Huge Thank You to Our Wonderful PTA! 🎁

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTA for providing each class with their Christmas gifts this year. The PTA listened carefully to the feedback from our School Councillors, who shared what their classes really needed — and today the gifts were presented!

The children were absolutely over the moon, and their excitement filled the school. 🌟

🎄🍽️ Christmas Dinner Day at HFJS! 🎅✨
Today was an absolute festive triumph — Christmas dinner was a huge hit, and the children loved every moment of it!

A massive shoutout to Mr Newton, Mrs Powell, Mrs Hogg and Mrs Livett, who went above and beyond to serve and clear hundreds of meals to make sure our pupils had a truly magical experience. Their hard work, smiles, and festive cheer helped make the hall feel extra special today. 💫

From the Christmas music to the laughter (and the mountains of roast potatoes!), it was a wonderful celebration for everyone.

Our talented Year 3 & 4 pupils took to the stage today for their dress rehearsal of Lights, Camel, Action! 🐪💃✨
They dazzled us with brilliant acting, fabulous dancing and superstar singing — what a performance! 🎭🎤

We were especially delighted to welcome the Year 2 pupils from our Infant School, who came over to watch the show. 💛 It was wonderful to see the excitement and encouragement shared between our pupils. 🤝🌟

A huge well done to all of our performers and a big thank you to the staff who helped bring this show to life. We can’t wait for the main performance! 👏💫

In Science this week, our learners became real electrical engineers! We looked closely at different circuit diagrams and had to predict whether each one would work. Students used their understanding of components, connections and complete circuits to justify their ideas before testing them out.

After making their predictions, we built each circuit using wires, bulbs, batteries and switches to discover whether our thinking was correct. There were lots of great discussions, problem solving moments and plenty of excitement when a bulb lit up!

The children showed fantastic teamwork and curiosity throughout the experiment. Here are some photos of them investigating and testing their circuits. 💡🔋

A huge shout-out to the pupil who took the initiative to tidy up the Chromebook trolley and organise all the cabling. Your hard work and attention to detail have not gone unnoticed! 👏👏

Our SEEAT Deputy IT Manager, Gerrard Shaw, was very impressed with this effort — commenting on how brilliantly the equipment has been looked after and how smoothly the IT area is running. 🧠🔌

By stepping up and taking responsibility, this thoughtful action has saved our wonderful IT team a big job for half term — showing exactly what initiative, pride, and care for our school look like. 🌟

We had a very special visitor today — Chrissie Sains, the amazing author of The Alien in the Jam Factory and Treasure under the Jam Factory! 🍓🚀

Chrissie joined us to share her brand-new book, Beastopia, and the children were absolutely captivated! They loved hearing about her inspiration, characters, and the magical world she’s created. 🌟

Pupils were also thrilled to have the opportunity to purchase a copy and have it personally signed by Chrissie — what a fantastic keepsake and memory! 💫

There’s something fish-tastic happening at Holt Farm Junior School! 🏫💦
Our brand new goldfish have officially joined the school family — and they’re already making quite a splash! 🧡🐟

Today, some of our wonderful helpers took on the very important job of feeding our new friends, making sure they’re happy, healthy, and settling into their shiny new pond. It’s been lovely to see how caring and responsible our pupils are — everyone is so excited to help look after them! 🌟

We can’t wait to see our goldfish grow and to learn more about how to care for animals as part of our classroom community. 🪴🐠

🌿✨ A Magical Day at Holt Farm! ✨🌿

Today, we were delighted to welcome the incredibly talented M & M Theatre Company to our school! 🎭 They treated us to a truly enchanting performance of The Secret Garden, bringing the classic story to life right here in our hall.

From the moment the curtain rose, our pupils were captivated by the beautiful storytelling, stunning costumes, and wonderful acting. 🌸 The children were completely absorbed in the magic of the performance — gasping, laughing, and clapping along as the secret garden was revealed! 🌼

It was a joy to see so many inspired faces, and to hear our pupils talking afterwards about friendship, kindness, and the importance of caring for the world around us — the very heart of The Secret Garden. 💚

A huge thank you to the M & M Theatre Company for sharing their talent and creativity with us today, and for giving our pupils such a memorable live theatre experience. 👏
