Starting back with tutoring has reminded me why I love this job so much. 🥰

For me, tutoring isn’t about endless worksheets or ticking boxes- it’s about:
✨ Building confidence before chasing perfection
✨ Helping children find strategies that actually work for them
✨ Keeping sessions engaging so learning feels fun, not stressful

One of my students, an EAL learner, has been developing her writing skills with me. Instead of pushing her to follow a rigid formula, I let her take the lead. She has such an incredible imagination, and I wanted to foster a love of writing first.

The best bit? She now wants to write for pleasure- and she can’t wait to show everyone her efforts. That’s what it’s all about: confidence, joy, and progress.

Whether it’s a child who needs a boost in primary maths or English, or someone preparing for the 11+, my aim is always the same: to make them feel proud of what they can do, and excited about what’s next.

When people think of the 11+, they often picture stacks of practice papers and hours of study.

But here’s the truth — the 11+ is just as much about skills as it is about knowledge.
✅ Problem-solving
✅ Working under time pressure
✅ Staying calm when a question looks tricky

I know this not just as a tutor… but as a mum. My own son is sitting the 11+ this year, so I really understand the nerves, the doubts, and the pressure — for both children and parents!

If your child learns how to approach a question- not just memorise answers- they’ll walk into the exam feeling prepared, not panicked. That’s exactly what I focus on in my sessions: less stress, more strategy, and a calmer journey to the finish line.
