The members of staff at St Luke's are a dedicated team, experienced and qualified in settling in children in the transition from home to pre-school. Since 1966 the pre-school has been giving the children the wish to learn and we endeavour to continue providing a safe, caring and healthy setting achieving the best outcomes for all of our children by providing high quality care and education.

We were delighted to be supporting Childline by taking part in the NSPCC's 'Kindness Challenge' last week, and raised £20.

Kindness is ...

"I picked buttercups for mummy."
"I did the dishwasher...."
"Play together."
"(Can) I go play please?" As in, 'Stop asking me what being kind means, or what kind things have I done or... or ... I'm having too much fun playing.'

You can be kind in so many ways, but we make a promise each morning at circle/registration time, 'to care and to share.' And last we showed our support for Childline by creating this heart with our handprints.

And of course it's never too late and there's so many ways, to create a little more kindness at home, at pre-school and the world!

Being kind can mean: you smile and get a smile back; you share a toy with another child; you play with someone you don’t normally play with; you help tidy your toys; you offer to help making a meal; you make a card for mum, dad, a friend… or you make a cake for your teacher…

Being kind helps you grow.

Hope you are all having a fantastic summer so far! I saw these dinosaurs at the zoo over the weekend! Can anybody tell me what dinosaurs they are?

Talking together, asking questions and sharing ideas helps to develop children's language, communication and thinking skills. Following your child's interests is a wonderful way to support their learning so I've popped a couple of links to activities below!
