Return to School – September 2026

We are excited to welcome our staff and students back for the new academic year! We look forward to seeing everyone and getting the year off to a great start.

Please see the arrangements for the first week below:

📅 Tuesday 1 September
Staff Training Day – Students are not expected in school.

📅 Wednesday 2 September

* Year 7: Students should be onsite from 8.30am to 2.55pm
* Year 12: Students should be onsite from 9.30am to 2.55pm
* All other year groups: Students should not attend school.

📅 Thursday 3 September
All year groups: Students are expected in school from the normal start time of 8.30am.

📚 Year 7 Open Events 2026

Come and discover what makes St. John Fisher Catholic Comprehensive School a great place to learn.

Join one of our Open Morning Events throughout September and October to meet our Headteacher, tour the school and see lessons in action.

We're also excited to introduce our Open Evening on Wednesday 21st October, 4.00pm–6.30pm, where you can meet our students, chat with staff and explore our fantastic facilities.

As the school year comes to a close, we would like to wish all of our students, staff, and families a restful and enjoyable summer break.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our parents and carers for your continued support throughout the year — we truly appreciate your partnership. 💙

We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students on 2 September at 8:30am, and our new Year 12 students at 9:30am.

All other year groups are expected to return on 3 September at 8:30am.

☀️ Hot Weather Arrangements This Week

Due to the forecast hot weather, students do not need to wear their blazer, tie or jumper this week.

Students may wear:
• Their PE kit, or
• A plain red or white T-shirt with black shorts or black tracksuit bottoms.

Please ensure your child brings a refillable water bottle each day so they can stay hydrated using our water fountains.

Our hot weather plan is in place, including measures to keep classrooms as cool as possible. Staff will also be wearing smart casual clothing for the week.

With two weeks of term remaining, learning will continue as normal and we look forward to students continuing to work hard despite the warmer weather.

Year 12 induction day
