JIGSAW LINOCUT
It’s amazing what can be achieved in two hours. These prints were made at St George’s Arts Centre in Gravesend.

It was a seaside postcard workshop to complement artsandculturegravesham The Great British Summer Holiday Exhibition Gravesham Borough Council

This technique is an easy way to add colour to your linocut prints with just one lino tile. We used ink pads instead of block printing ink which gives each print a painterly quality.

They almost don’t look like linocuts. I quite like it. A nice little change.

In case you hadn’t already heard, sadly there was a fire at Café Nucleus, Rochester, the building where my studio is located.

Thankfully it happened in the early hours of the morning, and no one was hurt but it means that things are a bit up in air at the moment as repairs and cleaning are done.

The studio spaces weren’t too badly affected, just smoke damage, but other areas are going to take longer to sort and it may be some time before the building is open again.

As such all studio workshops have been moved to different venues and unfortunately I can’t fulfill any private hires at the moment.

But I’m still running plenty of workshops and exhibitions in Kent and don’t forget Medway Open Studios in July.
