We practised spelling rules using magnetic tiles, played a beanbag throwing game to practise times tables, and even got the kinetic sand out!

Children learn so much more when they’re enjoying themselves. 💜

Big news- I’m moving! Don’t worry, I won’t be far away 🥰 but here is a sneak peak of my new classroom with some lovely new drawers for all my resources!
I can’t wait to get organised in here. It’s a bigger space, with more parking and I really can’t wait to start teaching here!

If you are a parent or teacher and you haven’t used the Nrich website, it is absolutely amazing!
Maths games and activities for every topic you can think of using really practical resources.
I first used the website when I started teaching over 10 years ago and I’m still shocked it’s completely free!

This morning we played this game to practise both strategy and negative numbers.

Some words just don’t play by the spelling rules… and that’s where mnemonics come in! 🙌

They’re a fun, memorable way to help children lock tricky words into their brains- especially when they come up with their own. That’s when the magic really happens ✨

I love making little reference cards like these with my students so they’ve got something to revisit anytime they need a reminder.

A little milestone moment ✨

Last week, I completed my first block of lessons with my practice student as part of my Specialist Dyslexia Teacher training.

So grateful to this family for trusting me- I’ve learned so much already and can’t wait to get started with learner 2 🥰

Oh, and my tutor room gained its first Jellycat 📏 🫶🏻

Ps. I obviously don’t have favourites 🤪
