🇸🇳❤️ On Friday, Reception’s World Cup adventure continued!
Duckling Class proudly represented Senegal, dressing in their team colours and taking part in a range of football-themed activities throughout the day.

The children have loved tracking Senegal’s scores and progress, and were so pleased to see them make it through the group stages! ⚽🌍

A huge thank you to our Reception families for your generous World Cup PTA hamper donations.

On Friday, our fantastic PTA held a World Cup themed day! ⚽🌍

Each class was given one of the 14 top-ranked teams in the World Cup and children came dressed in their team’s colours. We also asked for donations linked to those colours or items from that country — and we could not be more impressed by the generosity shown by our school community.

The donations have now been turned into 14 amazing, themed hampers, and raffle tickets will be on sale over the next two weeks.

We are so fortunate to have such an active PTA and such a kind, generous community supporting our school.

Now we’ll be cheering England on as they continue their World Cup journey into the final 32! ⚽👏

Elephants Class had a fantastic trip to Rochester on Wednesday! 🌞🍕

Despite it being the hottest day of the year so far, the children embraced every moment of their exciting learning experience.
Their first stop was Pizza Express, where they discovered how pizzas are made before getting hands-on and creating their very own Margherita pizzas.

The children loved kneading the dough, flipping it like the professionals and adding their toppings. The highlight for many was, of course, enjoying their delicious pizzas for lunch – and we think the adults agreed too! 🍕😋 The visit linked perfectly with their Design and Technology learning this year.

In the afternoon, the class visited the Guildhall Museum, where they explored the fascinating exhibits and took part in a workshop looking at World War Two artefacts. It was wonderful to see just how much knowledge the children have gained in History this term, with lots of thoughtful answers and excellent discussion throughout.

A huge well done to all of Elephants Class for representing Cliffe Woods Primary School so brilliantly. They were enthusiastic, inquisitive and impeccably behaved all day. We are very proud of you! 👏🐘

🦁🐘 Year 2 Visit Howletts Zoo! 🐒🦒

Last Friday, on another very hot day, our Year 2 children had an amazing time visiting Howletts Wild Animal Park as part of their learning about animals and habitats.

The children thoroughly enjoyed seeing a wide variety of incredible animals and bringing their classroom learning to life. They were a credit to the school, demonstrating excellent behaviour throughout the day and making the most of every opportunity.

To top off a fantastic trip, each child was treated to a well-earned ice cream, which was certainly appreciated in the warm weather! 🍦☀️

A huge thank you to our wonderful Year 2 team for organising such a memorable experience, and to our fantastic parent helpers for giving up their time to support the visit. Your help made the day possible.

It was a wonderful day of learning, exploration and fun, creating memories that I'm sure the children will treasure! 🌿🦓💚

🌟 Inspiring Future Careers! 🌟

On Monday afternoon, our Year 5 and 6 children attended a fantastic Careers Fayre organised by the school, giving them the opportunity to explore a range of exciting career paths and start thinking about their futures.

Despite the extremely hot weather, the children showed great enthusiasm throughout the afternoon. We were incredibly fortunate to welcome visitors from our local community who shared their experiences in financial management, surveying, media production, and IT/app design.

The children asked some thoughtful and insightful questions, demonstrating genuine curiosity about the world of work. It was wonderful to see them engaging so positively with our visitors and beginning to consider the many opportunities that lie ahead.

A huge thank you to all of our guest speakers for giving up their time to inspire our pupils—it was a truly successful and enjoyable afternoon! 🌞🎓💼

⚽🏆 Mini Youth Games Success! 🏆⚽

Last Thursday, three of our football teams took part in the Mini Youth Games Football Tournament. We entered one Champions Team and two Cup Teams, all of whom represented the school brilliantly.

Despite some challenging weather conditions, our children demonstrated fantastic resilience, teamwork and determination throughout the competition.

We are delighted to share that one of our Cup Teams finished in an impressive 2nd place, while our Champions Team were crowned winners of their tournament! 🥇🏆

These fantastic results mean that we are currently leading the overall Mini Youth Games standings, and we have two more trophies to add to our growing collection!

A huge congratulations to all of the children involved – you should be incredibly proud of yourselves. Thank you also to the staff and families who supported the teams throughout the event.
