The children have worked so hard this spring to grow their own food! This week they harvested and the joy from them all was incredible! Each child learnt that a little patience earns big rewards! ✨️

Every week they have watered, checked on, shooed away bugs and even sung to the plants to help them grow! What wonderful gardeners they are! Even woth the rain our common saying now is "The plants will be happy!" 😆

The children got to take their projects home to their families 👏 well done little ones!
Now we have to wait a little more for those strawberries! 🍓

Its happening again! 🦋

It's that time of year where we begin to prepare for very special visitors!
The children will be welcoming baby caterpillars after the May half term.
It's a great opportunity for the children to gain skills such as;
• caring for others
•patience
•a life cycle
•understanding the world around us
•understanding nature
•mathematics language
•descriptive language
And so much more!

We will be incorporating activities over the next few weeks based on our observations 👀

We can't wait! 🐛

As an Early Years Professional, our key goal is to support children in the stages of their development to become 'school ready'.
📚🖍🧒🏻👦🏾👧🏿

Often it can be confused that learning numbers and letters is important before age 5. However this is a skill they learn at school. Being school ready is key milestones such as, toilet training, separation from main carer and social skills.

Here are some great tips to help your little one with their new journey!

This morning we took a trip to the local park. The children chose which toys to bring with us and we packed our bag and set off for a lovely walk. We found a perfect spot full of shade 😎
We played ball games, read stories and watched the world pass by. 🤩

🌸I wanted to use this post to discuss the wonderful moments children give us when they "gift" us a piece of nature. 🪨🪵

Children will always come up to their adult with such pride to gift a flower, rock, leaf or stick. Why do they do this? I'm sure many of us adults respond with politeness and thank them. Maybe even drop it back to the floor? As an adult the wonder and enthusiasm of nature does slowly fade away. It's not our fault. The busy world we all live in now, it's easily done.

However for a child that one daisy out of a hundred, that special pointy moss covered stick, maybe a smooth rock, these particular items, not only are truly magical in the eyes of a child. The sensory overload of pure nature, a cold wet stick, a tickly petal from a flower. They see these items are pure gold. 💫

The really big point that gets me every time a child gifts me an item, like this beautiful daisy I was given this morning is that the children who have picked up something from the ground for you, has given you the only thing they can in this world on their own.
They chose you!
Children can't pop to the shop to buy a present to show their appreciation like we may. Children want to share their love and gratitude by gifting presents just like an adult. It also shows acts of kindness and emotional intelligence but the only way children can do this is by finding a natural item. They may pick the first one they see, or maybe spend some time searching for the biggest stick. Either way its very similar to an adult shopping for a present.

Its all they have in this world to give to you and they chose that for you 🥰
How special!
Enjoy your bank holiday everyone! I hope you get the best stick 😁

Imagine being under 5 and finding a hidden garden! 👀🌿🪻

Over the Easter break we have created a truly magical area in the garden for the children to use. Filled with plants to enhance sensory play with smells, bright colours and different textures.
The children can explore this hidden garden and all it's little treasures freely. They may even spot a hedgehog! 🦔

Keep a look out on another garden update this week! 👨‍🌾🥒🍓🍅🥬👩‍🌾

Best of luck to all the children and their families today who will be finding out their school placement for primary school!

What a big moment! 🎉

Being school ready is a big part of the Early Years Learning. It's always wonderful to see how children grow to become ready for their next big adventure. 😃
I hope you all get the place you want 🤞

☆We've been busy making memories 💭
☆Making friendships 👥️
☆And learning lots of new skills 👌

I feel its only fair that I get back into the social media side and share what great fun we have!

🎉What better time to do so now I am celebrating 20 years in early years! 🎉

Our most recent news is⚠️
The children have been helping and preparing our new vegetable patch! We have been voting on what fruit and vegetables we would like to see grow. The children will be bringing them home to share with their families!
