GCSE Results Day 2026!

A fantastic 52% of all grades are at Grade 7 and above, with almost a third of all grades being Grade 8 and above.

The results reflect the hard work shown by pupils following two years of studies and the support given by dedicated staff and families.

There has been a really strong performance across the core subjects; English, mathematics and all science subjects have done incredibly well. A special mention should go to business studies, physical education, psychology, creative iMedia, film studies and art who all attained particularly strong results.

Alongside the school's overall success, many pupils have achieved exceptional individual results, including:

NS who achieved 10 GCSEs at Grade 9 and 11 GCSEs in total
CO who achieved nine GCSEs at Grade 9 and 11 GCSEs in total
MPD who achieved eight GCSEs at Grade 9 and 11 GCSEs in total

Clare Brinklow, Principal at Rochester Grammar School, said:

“I am so proud of this cohort of students who have worked so hard to achieve this fantastic set of results and I am looking forward to seeing many of them back here in September to study A Levels in the Sixth Form. As always huge thanks must go to our dedicated staff and to all the parents and families who support at home. It is lovely to see the rewards from this team effort.”

Michelle Smith, Regional Director at The Thinking Schools Academy Trust, said:

“Congratulations to every student receiving their results today. Their achievements are a testament to the effort, resilience and ambition they have demonstrated, as well as the encouragement they have received from teachers, staff and families.

“We are immensely proud of our students at Rochester Grammar School and all they have achieved. As they take their next steps into further education, training or employment, we wish them every success in the opportunities that lie ahead.”

What an incredible Sports Day! ☀️🎉

RGS students jumped high, threw far and ran fast, giving their all and making the day one to remember!

What stood out most was the amazing support shown by every student for every athlete. The cheers, encouragement and House spirit created an atmosphere that perfectly showcased what a fantastic school community RGS is.

The energy was incredible, the effort was outstanding and the sportsmanship on display was second to none!

The PE Department would like to say a huge thank you to all students and staff for their support, enthusiasm and willingness to get involved. It is always greatly appreciated.

Now, on to more House competition, creativity and fun!

Wishing everyone a fantastic Olympiad and House Arts Day. The PE Department can't wait to see the same passion, teamwork and House spirit shine through once again!

The Rochester Grammar School community came together at Rochester Cathedral this morning to celebrate Founders' Day, with a wonderful service of reflection, gratitude and community. We were delighted to hear readings from our Chair of Governors and Executive Student Team, while music was beautifully provided by members of the RGS Orchestra, NChant and the RGS Community Choir.

We were also honoured to welcome Hannah Grout, Charity and Operations Manager from the Oliver Fisher Special Baby Care Trust, who shared the inspiring work of the charity that our students will be supporting through fundraising at this afternoon’s Founder's Day Fête.

Thank you to everyone who made this special occasion such a memorable celebration of our school's values and traditions.

On Thursday 9th July, we welcomed over 40 local businesses, universities and colleges as we hosted our annual careers fair. The event provided our Year 10 and Year 12 students the opportunity to discuss future career options with industry experts.

We would like to thank all of our partners who attended the event and provided our students with this fantastic opportunity.
