Today, students in KS3 had a visit to Northwood Farm in Burnley. Students got to feed, pet and learn how to look after a range of animals on a farm. An amazing day and look forward to the next one.
At Oak Haven School, we are continuing to grow our vocational offer for learners with SEMH needs and are looking for support from businesses and organisations who may be able to help us create additional learning spaces.
We are currently exploring the possibility of hiring or purchasing a portable cabin/Portakabin-style building to accommodate our expanding vocational curriculum, including areas such as Hair & Beauty, Engineering and other practical learning opportunities.
Ideally, we are looking for:
• One larger learning space
• Two smaller breakout/workshop rooms
If your company may be able to support through donation, sponsorship, discounted hire, refurbishment, construction, or advice, we would love to hear from you directly. We are open to hiring or purchasing the additional space.
Providing these spaces would make a huge difference to our learners by helping us deliver engaging, hands-on experiences that build confidence, skills and future pathways.
Please contact school directly if you feel you can help. Thank you for your continued support of our amazing young people at Oak Haven School.

Amazing visit to the Rochdale Centre Mosque for Nurture 1 to learn more about the religion of Islam and gain an insight into different cultures and beliefs. Thanks again for kindly inviting us to visit.
We also had an amazing email back from the Imam to say how fantastic the learners were on the visit.
We are really pleased to hear that the children enjoyed their visit. It was a pleasure to welcome Oak Haven School to the mosque, and the children were a credit to your school throughout the day. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and respectful behaviour made the visit very enjoyable for all of us as well.
I will also pass on your lovely comments to Dr Mohammad and the rest of the team. We are very grateful for the opportunity to support young people in learning more about the mosque and the local community. Hopefully it will go ahead long way in forging better relationships and engendering better understandings.
Thank you as well for sharing our details with your colleagues, we would be delighted to host other classes in the future.
Kind regards,
Zaid Mohammad

Nurture 2 continued to work on their travel training and life skills by having a visit to the Manchester Police Museum to learn about rules and laws. Great effort every one!
We’re looking for support to expand our vocational offer for learners with SEMH needs at Oak Haven School.
We are in the early stages of developing two exciting pathways:
Hair & Beauty
Engineering
These courses will provide meaningful, hands-on learning experiences, helping our learners build confidence, develop practical skills, and prepare for future employment.
To bring these opportunities to life, we are reaching out to our community, local businesses, and professionals who may be able to support us through donations, expertise, or partnerships.
Examples of support that would make a real difference include:
Hair & Beauty:
- Salon chairs, mirrors, and styling stations
- Hairdryers, straighteners, curlers
- Training heads/mannequins
- Towels, capes, brushes, and combs
- Nail kits, beauty tools, and consumables
Engineering:
- Workbenches and tool storage
- Hand tools (spanners, screwdrivers, hammers, drills)
- Materials (wood, metal, fixings)
- Safety equipment (goggles, gloves, PPE)
- Small machinery or training kits

We would also warmly welcome professionals willing to volunteer time, offer workshops, or provide industry insight.
If you or your organisation can help in any way, please message me directly. Your support would have a lasting impact on the lives and futures of our learners.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity
