📸 One Year. Countless Memories. 💙

As another school year comes to an end, we’ve been looking back through some of our favourite moments… and what a year it’s been.

Looking through these photos, it’s easy to see the muddy boots, the paint-covered hands, the sports sessions, the fishing trips, the cooking lessons, the days out and, above all, the smiles.

But behind every photo is a story.

A young person who gave something a go when they didn’t think they could.

A friendship that grew over a shared laugh.

A quiet moment when confidence started to replace self-doubt.

Those are the moments that stay with us.

To our students, thank you for your energy, your humour and for making every day different. Watching you discover new strengths, support one another and achieve things you never thought possible has been a privilege.

To our families, thank you for your trust, your encouragement and for letting us be part of your child’s story. We know progress looks different for every young person, and we’re proud to celebrate every step forward alongside you.

We hope you all have a wonderful, safe and well-earned summer. Make the most of the sunshine, spend time together, create new memories and enjoy a well-deserved break.

LCE Academy updates! 🏫✨

We are moving closer to September every single day, and the transformation inside our new school building is happening fast! 💨

Our number one goal throughout this journey has been to create a space where your children will immediately feel safe, valued, and welcome.

Thanks to a massive team effort - including some fantastic help from our brilliant LCE students along the way!

We still have plenty of hard work ahead of us before the doors officially open, but we couldn't wait to share a sneak peek of how things are shaping up:

📚 Classrooms taking shape: We are setting up bright, modern, and calm classrooms designed to reduce overwhelm and help students focus without feeling stressed. ✍️

🛋️ Social spaces coming together: These are welcoming, cozy, and comfortable areas built specifically for downtime, relaxing, and helping students regulate their emotions and connect with staff. 🌱

🤝 Reception getting ready: First impressions matter! We want the front entrance to feel incredibly warm, safe, and welcoming from the very second your child steps inside to help ease any morning anxieties. ❤️

🎨 More artwork on the walls: Incredible new pieces are going up, injecting personality, color, and life into our corridors. We want this to feel like a vibrant community, not a cold institution! 🔥

There is still a way to go, but seeing our vision for a caring, supportive school turn into a reality piece by piece is so exciting.

We are on track, focused, and dedicated to building a space where learning becomes possible again. 🌟

Finishing the year right when it matters most. 📉💙

As the school year draws to a close, many of us are understandably looking forward to a change of pace, a break from the morning rush, and some well-deserved quality time together as families.

But for many children, this time of year can trigger a real mix of emotions.

Over the next couple of weeks, you might notice some unfamiliar behaviors, heightened emotions, or sudden changes in routine at home or in the classroom.

🌀 For some, it’s overstimulation: They are incredibly excited for the freedom of summer, but secretly struggling to handle the looming lack of structure and routine.

🛑 For others, it’s anxiety: School provides a predictable, safe, and structured anchor every single day. Stepping away from that consistency for six whole weeks can feel overwhelmingly daunting and unsettling for a young person.

We know how exhausted everyone is after a long academic year - both staff and parents! But this is exactly when our children need us to work together and be at the very top of our game.

💡 What we are focusing on right now:

🫂 Kindness & Empathy: Looking past difficult or reactive behaviors to see the underlying anxiety or stress about the big change ahead.

⚓ Consistency & Reassurance: Being that steady anchor of safety and calm right up until the final school bell rings.

💬 Emotional Availability: Taking the time to sit, listen, and stay sensitive to the hidden worries our young people might be carrying.

Preparing for the summer break is a beautiful milestone, but it's okay if it feels a little overwhelming right now.

Let’s work together to finish the school year on a high, creating the ultimate safety net of care for our students.

What an incredible Saturday at the LCE Fun Day! ☀️🎉

A huge thank you to all the amazing families, students, staff who joined us. You made the day so incredibly special, and the community spirit from start to finish was just wonderful to see!

There was something for everyone to enjoy, from our sharp-shooters taking on Beat the Goalie to the ever-popular tombola and bean bag toss! 🎯⚽

But if we’re being honest… the biggest crowd-pleaser had to be Splat the Staff! 🧽 💦😂

A massive shoutout to our brave team for throwing themselves into the fun (quite literally!) and creating so many laughs and unforgettable memories for our young people.

Beyond all the games and prizes, what stays with us most is seeing the relationships that make our LCE family so unique. Watching our students chat, laugh, and joke with staff outside of the classroom reminds us just how important these moments are.

They help build trust, strengthen connections, and create that true sense of belonging that sits at the heart of everything we do. ❤️

It was also wonderful to catch up with so many parents and carers. Taking the time to chat, share stories, and simply enjoy the day together helps us continue building the strong partnerships that make the biggest difference for your children.

Days like these remind us that education is about so much more than what happens in the classroom. It’s about creating real experiences, building lifelong relationships, and growing a community where every single young person feels seen, valued, and supported. 🌟

How do you keep students safe, highly engaged, and active when the temperatures soar?

We didn’t let it slow us down! We adapted, kept the energy high, and made it an unforgettable week for the students. 🙌

LCE Juniors are absolutely flying! 🚀✨

We are having the best time keeping the momentum rolling with our incredible juniors!

Their recent activities perfectly capture what youth development at LCE is all about: building confidence, making new friends, and having a brilliant time along the way.

Our team and students have been incredibly busy:

🧠 Building Lifeskills: Hard at work honing fundamental skills and settling into positive routines at our Rochdale facility.
🤝 Teamwork & Friendships: Practicing communication, problem-solving, and bonding through fun team scavenger hunts and park activities.
🌱 New Adventures: Stepping out of their comfort zones with climbing, getting creative with cupcake making, and exploring the zoo!

Investing in the next generation early is at the heart of everything we do. Seeing these young people build their confidence and smile through every new experience is the most rewarding part of our job. ❤️

This early group is laying an amazing foundation, and we already can’t wait until September when LCE Juniors launches in full effect! 🧩
