I help experienced massage therapists become the go-to therapist in their area. Is your therapy business successful? Success isn't just about money.

In my mentoring programme we work to get them known, respected, and recommended locally - so they can work less and earn more. A successful therapy business should be a joy. It should feel, easy, enjoyable, meaningful AND make you money. Success to you might mean getting more clients, becoming the most sought after therapist in your area or it might mean creating different sources of income so you

If you're new here... hello! 👋

I've had quite a few new people following and you might not know who I am or what I do...or why!

(and if you've been here a while, you might have forgotten!)

So ...

I'm Nikki, and I've been a massage therapist since 1999. (Eek! yes, really!)

Since then I've built my own successful massage business from scratch,( and then rebuilt it several times after moving to completely new areas around the UK.)

I've also managed a spa in central Manchester and owned a massage school running VTCT diploma courses.

I have a degree in marketing, a teaching qualification and a LOT of massage and holistic therapy certificates 😊)

All this to say… when it comes to massage, business and marketing...I kind of know what I’m talking about.

For the last 17 years I've taught and mentored hundreds of massage therapists to help them become the go-to therapist in their area, to deliver an outstanding treatment, to attract better clients and earn more without burning themselves out.

I don't believe success comes from squeezing more and more clients into your already jam-packed day.

I believe it comes from becoming a "sought-after specialist". ie the therapist that people actively seek out and are happy to pay just a bit MORE to see.

I really love helping good massage therapists realise they DON'T have to stick to bog standard prices, work all hours of the day, evening and weekend or just hope more clients magically appear.

I love helping them become known for what they do naturally, charge what their treatments are actually worth, and build a business that finally gives them the life they want.

So, if that's what you're trying to do too... you're in the right place!

(Oh, and if you're a dog person, you're definitely in the right place too. 🐾 My dog, Storm, has a habit of appearing in a lot of the photos I post!)

Thanks for following along. I'm really glad you're here.💙

I'd love to know... how long have you been a massage therapist? Let me know below!

One of the biggest reasons experienced massage therapists struggle to charge more...

..is that they sound exactly like everyone else.

"Relaxing massage."

"Can help with aches and pains."

"Frozen shoulder."

There's nothing wrong with those words.

But they don't give people a reason to choose YOU over the other therapists around.

Inside the Academy, we don't just make your website sound nicer.

We work out exactly who you want to attract and what they need to hear.

So the right people read your website and think:

"That's exactly what I've been looking for!"

When people feel understood, they stop comparing you with every other therapist.

That's when becoming the go-to therapist... (and charging more than average).. gets much easier.

I've got 5 places in the Academy this July.

Message me JULY if you'd like the details. 💛

You don’t find your niche.

You decide it.

So many massage therapists come to me saying:

“I can’t choose my niche.”

And I get why it feels hard.

Because the words everyone uses make it sound like there’s a perfect answer hiding somewhere.

“Find your niche.”
“Choose your niche.”

Like if you think about it for long enough, the clouds will part, sunbeams will stream down, and you’ll just KNOW.

Sorry to ruin the moment, but no.

That’s not how niching works.

A niche is a business decision.

That’s it.

You put your big adult pants on and say:

“Right. I’m going to work with these people and help them with this problem.”

Then you get on with it.

Inside Massage Business Success Academy, new members get a niche class in their first week.

It’s an hour long.

I spend about 50 minutes helping them understand WHY a niche matters in the first place, because that’s the bit that actually takes some getting your head around.

The decision itself gets about 10 minutes!

Because that’s literally all it takes.

You’re not marrying the niche.
You’re not carving it into a stone tablet.
You’re making the best business decision you can with the information you have right now.

Most therapists spend months waiting to feel completely certain.

The ones who get their niche sorted are usually the ones who DECIDE, then get moving with that decision

If you’re stuck trying to find the perfect niche, that’s the bit I’d look at first.

You might not have a niche problem.

You might have a DECISION problem.

If you want help with this - I've got the Niche Picker worksheet for you.

Comment Niche below and I'll get it sent to you.🤩

LAST DAY FOR EARLY BIRD SUMMER PRICING! 🐦

This June, I'm bringing together a small group of massage therapists who are ready to stop being the best-kept secret in their local area.

The therapists I work with are already good at what they do.
Their clients love them.

But they're still not as well known, well paid, (or as busy) as they feel they should be.

Over the next four months inside the Massage Business Success Academy, I'll help you become the therapist that people recommend to their friends, and are happy to pay higher prices to see.

Here's how we do it:

✨ STEP 1
Get clear on what makes you different.
We'll uncover your unique "massage magic", work out what you want to be known for, and create messaging that helps people instantly understand why they should come to you.

✨ STEP 2
Get noticed by more of the right people.
We'll improve your website, social media, Google profile and marketing so you're no longer blending into a sea of "relaxation massage", "wellbeing" and generic therapist marketing.

✨ STEP 3
Build a reputation that brings clients to you.
We'll create a client experience people rave about, build referral networks that send new clients your way, and help you change your treatment prices so they reflect your experience and expertise.

What happens when we do this:

More recognition.
More referrals.
Better-paying clients.

In short - a business that finally feels like it's rewarding you for all the years you've spent training and working with clients.

If you love your work, you're great at it - and you're ready for your clients and money to finally reflect that - the Massage Business Success Academy is where we do that.

It's open now for June and I only have 2 spaces -

And this is the last day for the early bird summer pricing...

You’re a absolute genius when it comes to massage!😍

Clients tell you you’ve got magic hands.✨.

You mix all the tools, treatments and modalities you’ve learned over the years into a special blend of something SO unique and amazing that clients can't get it anywhere else.

And what do you call this unique magic?

“Swedish massage”.
“Clinical massage”.
“Deep tissue massage”…

🫣

Does that REALLY explain what it is and what it does?

Of course not!

And THAT’S why you still have empty appointments, and aren't making the money you dream of.

And it’s why you don’t think you can charge above average rates.

But what you do ISN’T average!

YOU know that. I know that.

How do we get potential clients to see that?

Being an exceptional massage therapist and being able to talk about being an exceptional massage therapist - are two completely different skills!

You've spent years developing one. Nobody taught you how to do the other!

You’ve never been shown how to describe your own particular magic (in a way that will get the right clients flocking!)

Well, guess what?! That’s the work I love doing!🥰

Helping brilliant therapists understand their amazingness...

.. then put that into language that attracts clients who really value what they do and are more than happy to pay properly for it.

You absolutely DON’T need to be posting on socials all day. And you DON’T need a big following or to pretend to be something you’re not.

We just need YOU. Your magic hands, the clarity to finally be seen as the stand-out therapist you already are...

.And the right words.

I can help you with all of it.

Ready to stop being the best-kept secret?

And start being known for what you already do so wonderfully well?

Doors to the Academy are open for June - there are just 5 spaces.

Comment “JUNE” below, and I'll send you the details.

You know what used to do my head in?

Seeing amazing therapists leave training still with no clue how to actually grow a massage business.

Still stuck treating their massage like a hobby.

And still struggling to get paid well.

I taught the Level 3 Diploma for 16 years and ran advanced CPD trainings.

And while I loved helping therapists get really, really good at what they do - what I really loved was helping them finally get recognised and well-paid for it!

But I had to stick to the curriculum.☹️

I wanted to teach everything I knew - how to excel as a therapist, the intricacies of giving an exceptional treatment, how to have a successful business - but there just wasn't time.

I used to wish there was a better way to help them.

And that's why I moved to business mentoring.

There's a ton of great schools teaching wonderful massage out there.🤩

But there isn't a ton of people helping you GROW your wonderful massage business!

I developed the Massage Business Success Academy specifically to help therapists understand their amazingness ...

- to find their own unique "Massage Magic"... and be able to communicate it in their marketing.

When they do that, they

- attract perfect-fit clients who recommend, refer and pay well
-finally be seen as the stand-out therapist they already are
- feel confident to raise their prices (knowing people will pay)

We don't do this with slimy marketing. You don't need to be doing stupid dancing on socials.

You can do this with just you, your magic hands and the right words to describe your work.

If you're great at what you do - and ready for your clients and money to reflect that - I'd love to help. 💙

The Massage Business Success Academy is open now, for June. There are 5 places.

"Charge your worth!"

Everyone and their dog seems to be going on about that these days. Have you noticed?!

You know what? I hate that phrase! 😂

Because your worth as a human being has NOTHING to do with your massage prices.

You are not worth more because you charge £90.

And you are not worth less because you charge £45.

BUT…

I do think massage therapists massively undercharge in general.

This industry has historically been terrible at pricing.

We price from guilt.
From fear.
From “I don’t want people to think I’m expensive.”
From “I want everyone to be able to afford it.”

But everyone can’t afford everything.

And we’re not Tesco.
We can’t charge low and “make it up in volume”.

We’ve only got two hands.
And limited energy.

So yes, many therapists DO need to charge more.

But you can’t suddenly stick your prices up while still looking, sounding, and marketing yourself exactly the same as everybody else.

People need to understand WHY you cost more.

That comes from things like:
• becoming known for something specific
• looking more specialist
• creating a better client experience
• communicating your value more clearly
• building trust before people even book

As I always say in mentoring:

PRICING IS ABOUT PERCEPTION.

If someone lands on your website or social media and you look exactly the same as the therapist down the road charging £45…

…why would they pay you £85?

If you’re not sure what you should (or could) be charging, that's why I created the PERFECT PRICING CALCULATOR

It will tell you what you should be charging based on your expertise, your experience, business costs, energy levels, and the kind of business you want.

If you’d like to have a play with it, comment PRICING and I’ll send it over.💙

A therapist came to me the other day, all demoralised because she wasn’t getting clients from her social media posts.

When I had a look at what she was posting, I could see the problem straight away - it was all ads for her treatments (plus the occasional offer or inspirational quote.)

This is something that I see loads of therapists do, so I've got a TON of advice around this, (which I told her, obvs!) and I'm popping some of it here as I thought it would be useful to you too!

Here's Part One:

You CAN get clients fairly easily from social, but you need to do it the right way. And generic "ads" isn't the right way.

The problem is, social media doesn’t work like a noticeboard. People are not there to be sold to.

They're there to chat, relax, to catch up with people/events, to feel part of something or to be entertained.

Being on social media is a bit like being at a party...

Would you walk up to people and immediately start talking about your treatments?

Would you give everyone your business card (when no one has asked for it?)

Of course not!

So that's why it just doesn't work when we do the same in our social posts.

And that's also why it makes it tricky when you ARE trying to promote your business.

Because yes, you do need to market yourself... But you DON'T want to be annoying!

If every post feels like an advert, people switch off pretty quickly.

So how do you navigate the two?

The answer is that it’s a delicate balancing act. You need to be able to juggle promoting your work AND engaging.

So for every promotional post, try adding several posts that help people have a good time at that "party".

Post things that help them connect with you, that educate or entertain or just make them feel like they know you.

Then, alongside those, you sprinkle in posts that actually promote your treatments or speak to the problems your ideal clients are dealing with.

So instead of posting:
“Hot stone massage available this week!”

all the time…

You create a mix.

I recommend that for every 1 promotional post, you add around 3-4 posts that engage.

Something like:

•Behind-the-scenes of your treatment space
• a story about a client problem you see all the time
• something funny or relatable
• your thoughts on stress, tension, injuries etc
• Something personal
• a about your local area
• A question for people to answer

THEN when you do post something promotional, it feels much more natural and people are much more receptive.

Hope that helps a bit!

You know when you have that feeling of just LOVING your clients?😍

Well I'm feeling like that today about the therapists I'm mentoring!

I just wanted to give them a shout out here, because they are awesome. 🤩

They've been working so hard, often going waaaaay out of their comfort zone to do the things I recommend to grow their business.

They're really going for their bigger dreams, no matter how uncomfortable that can sometimes feel. They're taking all the actions, even when they sometimes can't see the wood for the trees, they trust that I can see it for them. (and I CAN! ;-))

Even when they're doubting themselves, even when they're struggling with "comparisonitis" or imposter syndrome (as we all do when we're going next level) they keep going, doing the work.

And they're starting to see the results of that - yes, they are getting new clients in and earning better money - but more importantly they are becoming empowered, confident business owners who are properly stepping into their specialism and understanding their own special massage magic.

Massive shout out to you. You know who you are! 💚💙💜

We need to talk about money.💵

I know...uncomfortable subject!

But this is sooo important, I need us to have conversation about it because after talking and working with many therapists, over many years - I can categorically tell you that money is THE THING that's keeping most of them stuck.

And I don't mean because they're not earning enough of it, (although that's probably the case!) The real problem is actually the opposite.

They're not SPENDING it wisely.

Most massage therapists I know are really careful with money.
They don't like spending anything on their business. The only thing they feel happy to spend money on is CPD courses.

They enjoy those courses and love learning a new skill to offer their clients - so it feels justified!

But I want to do a bit of maths with you for a sec...

Let's say you're earning £25,000 a year (you might be at more or less than this, but this tends to be an average that I see).

Now imagine, you had 15 clients a week at £65 each. That's £975 a week.

That gives you over £45,000 a year.

That's not fantasy money, honestly!

That's what can happen when you're known in your local area. When you do the right marketing to become the "go-to", and you're charging what your treatments are actually worth.

I see it happen - it's very, very possible.

That's a £20,000 difference every year.

Over three years, that's £60,000 left sitting on the table!

Now imagine there was something out there that could help you earn that - and you just decided you couldn't afford it!

Bonkers thinking hey?

Because, let's see - how much have you spent on CPD in the last three years? £1000? £3,000? More?

And be honest here - have those courses helped your income go up by the same amount?

I'd venture probably not. (and if it has, GREAT! Let me know about it!)

Here's the thing - most CPD courses make you a better therapist. They do NOT make you a better-known therapist.

They do not make you the therapist that people in your town recommend.

And they certainly don't teach you how to fill your books with clients who'll happily pay £65 (or £75 or £85!) rather than £55.

Those are different skills. And ridiculously, almost nobody teaches them to massage therapists.

If you're brilliant at what you do and your income doesn't reflect that yet - the problem probably is NOT your technique. It's much more likely to be your marketing.

So I want to ask you something. Beyond your next CPD course - what are you actually investing in to move your business forward? What's going to bring in more clients, higher paying clients AND build you a real reputation in your area?

I'm not saying the answer has to be me, or my Academy. There are other ways to invest in your business and I'd encourage you to explore all of them! But please - start thinking about investing in your business, not just your skills.

I'd love to know - what's one thing you're going to invest in for your business this year that isn't a CPD course?

Comment and tell me (and help me feel like at least some therapists out there get this! ;-))💙
