Today, Year 4 became scientists as we carried out an exciting investigation as part of our Sound topic!
Our aim was to find out whether the volume of a sound changes depending on the distance from the sound source.
Working in teams, we used metre sticks and data loggers to carefully measure the distance from our sound source and record the volume of the sound at different points. We made predictions, collected data and compared our results to see if we could identify a pattern.
The children worked brilliantly together, demonstrating great teamwork, curiosity and scientific thinking. They were particularly excited to see what happened to the volume as they moved further away from the sound source!
It was fantastic to see Year 4 putting their scientific enquiry skills into action and using real data to help answer our question.
