Many of our practitioners have been with us since the first year of opening in 2004. We care for up to 6 children under 2yrs old, 16 x 2yr olds and 16 x 3-4yr olds. Our curriculum is led by the children's needs and interests, we believe that children thrive in their early years development when they are engaged in activities of their choosing and one that is child centred. To do this we have highl

The Tweenies have been exploring a little bit about space today and the solar eclipse.
The children listened as we explained how the moon will move in front of the sun making it go a little darker. 🌚🌞🌓
They made a cardboard space rocket and painted their own little ones too with their faces on 😃
The children also pretended to walk on the moon and did their best impression of moon walking 🚶‍♀️

Yesterday Pre-school went on the best adventure.
Following a recent interest in small world play, we took to the forest - the home of the fairies.
We made our own magic wand (which held off the rain for at least 5 minutes) and used a real life fairy catcher to find them.
It was a perfect day with the best opportunities for our preschool, we explored staying safe, Forest school experience, transport, life skills and of course every adventure ends with ice cream. 🎉

We are extremely proud to announce that both Shelley and Jordan have completed their level 3 early years qualification this academic year and both passed with a distinction ⭐️⭐️

The level 3 is the equivalent to two A levels, the work and dedication which goes into it is hard going. Shelley completed hers in record time, 15months! Well done to you both 👏 🥳

We've had a lovely celebration this afternoon for our Pre-School children who start Reception class in September. Each child has made outstanding achievements during their time with us.

Thank you to each childs family for coming along to celebrate, it was lovely to spend such a special occasion with you all.

A huge thank you has to go to Emily for organising the full event and writing an absolute masterpiece of 'The Happy Jacks Times'. Thank you to Shelley for making their leavers gifts and to Ella for keeping our non leavers busy. Thank you to Becky and Sally for helping with the food too. It was a perfect afternoon.

We will miss you all, we are super proud to be sending each child on their next learning journey and them being more than ready for it 💜

And...a big Happy Birthday to our Danielle who turned 40 today 🥳

We held a mini sports day this morning for Pre-school, they invited some of the Tweenies who will be transitioning to pre-school in September. The children and staff had so much fun. There was lots of cheering, especially when Emily, Shelley and Richenda raced each other. . It was very competitive🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

We are a little bit late with this post. A couple of weeks ago the Tweenies took part in a dinosaur adventure!

Our tweenies love dinosaurs so this week we focused on our extinct friends. We explored finding dinosaur fossils in frozen mountains. This supported the Tweenies in understanding the world as they experienced the concepts of freezing and melting. Lots of ideas were shared as to how to melt the ice faster to release the fossils "it's cold", it's melting" said some of the children. We tried using the warmth of our hands until some of the children fetched the hammers from the tool box and hammered the fossils out.

Our dinosaur swamp encouraged sensory exploration and imaginative play whilst we promoted counting and size comparisons of the dinosaurs "I have a big dinosaur".

Our creative table was home to a dinosaur footprint paint activity. The tweenies experimented with different colours as we explored colour mixing using different coloured footprints 'Stomp, stomp".

Throughout all of these activities, Communication and language was supported as we discussed the different types of dinosaurs, what they ate and how they no longer exist now.

Pre-school had their own penalty shoot out today with Chloe in the net. Chloe tried her best, but the speed and precision of each ball kick was beyond her skill set 😆 it was such a fun afternoon.
Now, come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
