Caldershaw officially has talent! 🌟

What an incredible talent show! From powerful singers and stunning dancers to jaw-dropping gymnastics and football skills, our students completely blew us away today.

A massive thank you to everyone who performed, you were amazing, and thank you to the parents for helping the children rehearse!

A HUGE thank you to Mr Eaves, who came back and hosted the show for us! It was extra special. ❀️

We loved every single second of it. There is so much talent in our community! πŸ‘πŸ‘

From September 2026, the Government is expanding eligibility for Free School Meals so that all children whose parents or carers receive Universal Credit will be entitled to receive a free school meal.

If you think your family may qualify visit: https://www.rochdale.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals to read more information and check your eligibility.

If you're currently receiving free school meals, you don't need to do anything. Your entitlement will be checked in July 2026 and you will be informed of any changes.

Together, we can ensure that every child has access to a healthy meal during the school day and that families receive the support they are entitled to.

As an end of KS1 treat, Year 2 spent the morning at Jolly Giraffes.

They had the time of their lives! What a fantastic morning we had, and so well deserved after their hard work this year!

Nursery had a brilliant Pirate Day! πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈπŸ¦œ We played pirate team games, made tea-stained treasure maps, crafted a fruity pirate ship snack, and went on an epic treasure hunt!

Everybody looked absolutely fantastic in their outfits! Yo ho ho! βš“οΈπŸ’°

What an absolutely incredible accomplishment! πŸ“š

✨Huge congratulations to Evie from Year 5, who has officially achieved Honours Reader status on our Accelerated Reader programme! πŸ†

This year alone, Evie has read 63 at an average, with an average difficulty level of 5.7 and read a staggering 4,376,243 words.

πŸŽ‰To reach this ultimate milestone, a pupil has to climb all the way through every single reading level - from Rising Reader and Star Reader, right up to Classic Reader, and now finally Honours.

It requires an immense amount of dedication, brilliant comprehension skills, and a genuine love for reading.

Evie, everyone here at Caldershaw Primary School are all so unbelievably proud of your hard work and determination.

Keep turning those pages and lets all achieve just like Evie has done! 🌟

πŸ† ROCHDALE BOROUGH ROUNDERS CHAMPIONS 2026! πŸ†

What an incredible evening for Team Caldershaw last night! πŸ’™πŸ’›

A huge congratulations to our amazing rounders team, who played at Cardinal Langley last night in the final and were crowned Rochdale Borough Rounders Champions 2026 after fantastic victories over Newhey Community Primary (6-3) and Elmwood Primary (8.5-4).

The team demonstrated exceptional skill, resilience and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the competition. Every player gave their all, supported one another and represented our school with pride.

We are so proud of each and every one of you!
A very special thank you goes to Mrs Greenhalgh, who has dedicated every Friday throughout the year to coaching the team, with the wonderful support of Mrs Almond.

Your time, commitment and encouragement have helped make this achievement possible.

Thank you also to all of the parents, families, staff and supporters who came along to cheer the team on. It was a real Caldershaw community event, and it was fantastic to see everyone getting behind our children. Your support meant so much.

A special mention goes to Leo and Albie T for their fantastic captaincy, leading the team with confidence, encouragement and determination.

Not forgetting an unreal catch from Albie W that is not to go unmentioned!

We couldn't be prouder of this group of children. You have been outstanding Sports men and women for our school and are thoroughly deserving Rochdale Borough Champions.

Congratulations, Team Caldershaw! You are simply amazing! πŸ†πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

Reception had a swimmingly good day at Blue Planet Aquarium! 🐠🌊

They were absolute superstars throughout the trip and represented Caldershaw brilliantly.

We were also incredibly lucky to be joined by Wilson, one of our fantastic Year 6 Science Ambassadors, who shared his passion for the natural world and helped make the day even more memorable.

♻️ Year 5 had a fantastic time with Nigel, an Environment Education Officer from Rochdale Borough Council!

The children learned all about the importance of recycling, discussed how materials are produced, and explored how we can create a sustainable system where resources are reused and recycled. 🌍

We even treated Nigel to a performance of one of our assembly songs, "Reduce! Reuse! Recycle!"- and he absolutely loved it! 🎢 πŸ‘
