Visit from Ustaad Azmat and Hijrah Ride Fundraising

Recently, we were honoured to welcome our former teacher Ustaad Azmat, along with brothers Abdul Khalik and Salik. They visited our students to share the inspiring journey they will soon embark on. This coming January, they will be taking part in the **Hijrah Ride** — cycling from Makkah to Madinah to raise funds for Palestinian orphans, giving them the opportunity to perform ʿUmrah. SubhanAllah, what a noble cause.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“I and the one who cares for an orphan will be in Paradise like this,”
and he held his index and middle fingers close together.

In our final week of term, staff and students are hoping to support their mission by helping raise funds for this beautiful initiative. More updates will follow.

Year 11 Visit to Darul Uloom Bury

Last week, our Year 11 boys visited Darul Uloom Bury for a day trip, guided by Molana Aman and Molana Monim. The visit provided our students with a valuable insight into life at the madrasa and the opportunities available for further Islamic studies.

Students toured the campus, observed lessons and benefited from the advice and guidance shared by the teachers and students of the Darul Uloom. Many found the experience motivating and inspiring, gaining a clearer understanding of the environment, routines and expectations of higher Islamic education.

We hope the trip encourages our pupils to reflect on their future pathways and the importance of remaining connected to Islamic learning beyond school.

🧪 Chemistry Practical – Preparing Copper Salts

Our students recently completed a successful chemistry practical, taught by Ustaad Aqib, in which they prepared copper salts using copper(II) oxide and a range of acids.

Throughout the investigation, pupils developed strong practical and analytical skills, including accurate measuring, heating, filtering and crystallising solutions to produce copper crystals. They demonstrated safe laboratory practice, careful observation and an understanding of how different acids form different salts.

This activity helped reinforce key GCSE concepts such as acid reactions, solubility and crystallisation, while inspiring greater curiosity and confidence in experimental science.
