🎉 𝗚𝗖𝗦𝗘 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲! 🎉

Today we are celebrating the achievements of our fantastic Year 11 students and the progress made across the school.

Our students have shown incredible 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 throughout their GCSE journey, and their hard work is reflected in this year's results. We're particularly proud to see 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝟭𝟬% 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 in the number of students achieving a strong pass (Grade 5+) in both English and Mathematics, alongside a 𝟱%+ 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 (𝟵–𝟳).

Our separate science results have also been exceptional, with pass rates of 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟵𝟵% 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀.

These achievements are the result of the commitment and effort of our 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳, who have worked together throughout the year to support every young person to reach their potential.

Our Headteacher has released his latest vlog, sharing positive updates for families and the wider Robertsbridge Community College community.

In this edition, Mr Pratt reflects on his guiding quote "Progress over perfection", looking back on the many improvements that have been made across the school throughout this academic year - his first as Headteacher. It is a chance to celebrate how far the RCC community has come together.

Throughout the series, each vlog has taken a moment to focus on one of our three core values - Ambition, Pride and Respect. This edition turns the spotlight on Ambition, with Mr Pratt sharing his ambitions for the school moving forward, building on the positive progress made this year and our continued efforts to strengthen the school’s reputation and links with the wider community.

𝗥𝗖𝗖 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

On a scorching afternoon, our teacher team — playing together for the very first time — showed real respect, pride and ambition in a brilliantly competitive fixture against the Darvell community.

The first half was evenly matched, ending 0–0 thanks to several outstanding saves from Mr Prestney‑Vaughan, who kept the team level with sharp reactions and fearless commitment. Half‑time arrived as a much‑needed breather for both sides under the relentless heat.

The second half kicked off with the same intensity. A rapid strike from Mr Adams looked to have given the teachers the lead — but in true spirit of honesty (and with no VAR to save us!) it was ruled offside. Darvell responded instantly, scoring a well‑worked goal before adding a second as the teachers briefly dropped their heads.

Determined to finish with pride, the staff dug deep. A fingertip save from Mr Prestney‑Vaughan and a heroic goal‑line clearance from Mr Sowa ensured the match ended in a respectable 2–0 defeat — a scoreline that reflects the team’s ambition, resilience and respect for the game.

A brilliant afternoon of community spirit, effort and togetherness. Roll on the rematch.

𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀. 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀. 𝗡𝗼 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
Last week, RCC came alive with competition as Sports Day – well, FOUR days to be precise – took place! It was also one of the first major outings for our new Houses, with our various element-themed teams all displaying their very best characteristics throughout: 🔥 Pyro bringing determination, 💧 Hydro showing teamwork, ⚡ Electro demonstrating their drive, 🌍 Geo proving strength, and 🌿 Xylo with growth.

Years 9 and 10 got things underway on Monday and Tuesday, before Years 7 and 8 stepped up for their turn on Thursday and Friday.

Students competed across a full range of events - long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus, javelin, shot put, and a host of track events including team relays - with a number of records broken along the way! All students had the chance to take part in the field events, while track places were earned through selection.

It was a fantastic few days - a great atmosphere and wonderful weather: lots of sunshine, face paint and hearty vocal encouragement!

A huge well done to every student who competed, and a thank you to all the staff who helped make it happen - plus a special mention for our RCC Sports Leaders, who showed fantastic maturity and were brilliant role models throughout, and whose support across both field and track events was invaluable.

Yesterday our Year 10 Sports Leaders helped to run Northiam School's Sports Day.

They did a fantastic job organising and supporting a wide range of events, including sprints, egg and spoon races, hurdles, sack races, foam javelin and tyre pulls.

The students showed ambition by confidently taking responsibility for the events, respect by encouraging and supporting the younger pupils, and pride through the positive way they represented our school.

𝗔 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲'𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘀𝗼𝗻.

Many of you will remember Ms Louise Thompson – Subject Leader/Teacher of History and Head of KS3 during her 27 extraordinary years here at RCC. From battlefield visits to Ypres, to trips to the Tower of London, and her wonderful annual history celebrations - she inspired learning in so many memorable and creative ways.

We were deeply saddened to hear of her recent passing, aged just 59. We estimate she touched the lives of at least 3,500 students over her career - through her passion for her subject, her genuine care for young people, and her legendary sense of humour!

We want to honour her memory with something lasting - a permanent memorial within the school grounds that will stand as an enduring reminder of her dedication to this school and its students - and a real demonstration of the respect that we hold as one of our school values.

Last week, Robertsbridge Community College was delighted to welcome pupils from Salehurst, Hurst Green and Northiam for our annual Primary School Sports Day, Quad Kids.

Pupils took part in sprints, standing long jump and vortex throw, with certificates and medals awarded to the top performers.

The event was brilliantly led by our Year 9 Netball Squad, who stepped in as sports leaders and showed real ambition by taking on the responsibility of running the day.

𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆! 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁

Last Friday, we marked World Music Day with a free mini outdoor concert at breaktime. World Music Day takes place in June each year, but owing to the heatwave we held back the concert by a week for the comfort of our performers and audience. When our World Music Day Concert took place on 3rd July, the weather was just right for an outdoor performance.

We had well over a dozen students involved - including performers and crew - with the RCC House Band among those taking to the stage. A huge thank you to Mr Kuhler for organising such a wonderful event.

And it wasn't just our own students in the audience - because of our change of date we were also joined by our incoming Year 7s, who were on their second transition day with us. To top it all off, it happened to fall on the same day as our Dance Showcase, making it quite the cultural extravaganza here at RCC!

We've had so much going on recently that we're only just getting round to sharing this one - but it was absolutely worth the wait!

𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 - 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗨𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲!

What an incredible evening! On Friday, over 50 of our amazingly talented students took to the stage for our spectacular two-hour Dance Showcase, celebrating a year of creativity, commitment and hard work.

The fun actually started a little earlier - our Year 6 visitors, joining us for the second of their two transition days, were treated to a special preview of some of the performances during the final dress rehearsal. What a way to end their visit!

The audience on the night was treated to a fantastic variety of performances, including curriculum pieces, stunning solos from students across all year groups, and a collection of original choreographies created by our dedicated dancers during dance clubs throughout the year. Every performance reflected the passion, confidence and creativity that our students have developed.

Performing in front of a live audience takes courage, dedication and countless hours of rehearsal, and every single performer should be incredibly proud of what they achieved. They truly lit up the stage and showcased not only their talent but also the supportive spirit of our dance community.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our students and helped make the evening so special. Your encouragement means so much to our performers.

Congratulations to every dancer who took part - we are so proud of everything you have accomplished this year. And while one of the standout performances was Matilda's 'Revolting Children', it's fair to say that on the night, our students were anything but - they were SPECTACULAR children! ⭐💃🕺

𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 £𝟭,𝟬𝟭𝟵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁

We are incredibly proud of Fraiser, who has raised an amazing £1,019.00 for Teenage Cancer Trust by taking on the 3,000 Push-Ups in June Challenge.

Fraiser completed the challenge this week, finishing with his final 100 push-ups. This is a fantastic achievement and a brilliant example of ambition, determination and kindness in support of an extremely important cause. Well done, Fraiser - everyone at Robertsbridge Community College is very proud of you.
