What an amazing Healthy Living Week we've had! 🌟

Throughout the week, our children enjoyed a variety of exciting activities designed to promote healthy lifestyles. They got hands-on by making their own delicious, healthy wraps and were curious to taste a range of vegetables, with many discovering some new favourites! 🌯🥕

There was plenty of opportunity to keep active too! The giant inflatables, including the assault course and mega slide, were a huge hit as you can see by the smiles. Children also enjoyed fantastic cricket sessions led by coaches from Robertsbridge Cricket Club, who volunteered their time for us, where they developed lots of new skills and practised their teamwork. Our skipping workshops were another highlight, with children mastering new tricks and challenging themselves throughout the sessions. 🏏🤸‍♀️🎉

We rounded off the week with a special Sports Day morning adapted to better suit the hot weather and ensure everyone stayed safe while still enjoying a fun-filled morning of races, teamwork and encouragement. We were so proud of the resilience, determination and sportsmanship shown by all our pupils this week.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Healthy Living Week such a memorable success. We hope the children have been inspired to continue making healthy choices and staying active throughout the summer! 💚☀️

🚛 Learning About Staying Safe Around Large Vehicles 🚛

Last week, our Falcons and Buzzards classes had a fantastic opportunity to take part in the Saint-Gobain School Vehicle Safety Programme.

The children welcomed a Saint-Gobain lorry and its friendly team to school, where they learned all about staying safe around large vehicles. Through practical demonstrations, they discovered why drivers can have blind spots, the importance of keeping a safe distance, and how to stay visible when walking or cycling near HGVs.

It was a fun, interactive learning experience that helped reinforce valuable road safety messages for the children in such a memorable way.

A huge thank you to the Saint-Gobain team for taking the time to visit us and deliver such an engaging and important session. We are sure our children will take these important safety lessons with them wherever they travel.

🦅 Eagles Class: Safety in Action at Hastings Fire Station

Our Eagles Class visited Hastings Fire Station recently to take part in the fantastic Safety in Action event alongside other local primary schools.

Run by East Sussex Fire and Rescue, the event gave our Year 6 pupils the chance to explore a range of important real-life safety situations as they prepare for greater independence. Through interactive activities and real life scenarios, the children learned about fire safety, road and electrical safety as well as first aid and water awareness.

The pupils represented our school brilliantly, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork and maturity throughout the day. It was a valuable and engaging experience that will help them make safe and informed choices both now and in the future.

Our Nature Club recently decided they would like to transform the bank at school into a wildflower meadow. 🌼

The children really enjoyed carefully selecting the flowers that would grow best and thinking about how wildflowers help bees, butterflies and other wildlife. They showed great teamwork and there was lots of excitement about what it will look like once everything starts to bloom. This week's rain was perfectly timed to give the seeds the best chance possible! 🌱💦🐝🦋

We’re looking forward to watching the bank come to life over the next few months. Well done, Nature Club! 💚

Our Owls & Falcons classes had 'the best day ever' when they visited Blackberry Farm last week, as part of their Food & Farming topic! 🐑🚜🌾

The children had a fantastic time exploring the farm, learning all about farm animals and where our food comes from. They came face to face with lots of different animals and got to handle and feed some of them too. The bumpy tractor ride around the farm was a big hit and trying out all the exciting play zones was a great end to a brilliant day.

Well done to all our pupils for representing the school so well. We are sure they will remember this special hands-on learning experience for a long time!

🛟RNLI visits Salehurst🛟

We were excited to welcome two lifeguards from the RNLI into school yesterday to talk to our Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils about vital water safety skills.🌊

Joining over 10,000 school children in the South East who have taken part in their Water Smart sessions, our children discovered all about the safety flags they will get to see on the beach and what they mean, practised how to stay afloat in the water and even got to try out a rescue mission on dry land! 🏊

🌼🐣 Easter Service at Salehurst 🐣🌼

Our school community came together this week for a truly special Easter Service. Bathed in sunshine, the playground was transformed and we celebrated with joyful singing and quiet reflection.

The children shared readings and prayers, reminding us of the Easter message of hope, new beginnings, and kindness. Each class performed their song wonderfully, and it was lovely to see such confidence and enthusiasm from everyone involved.

We are incredibly proud of all our pupils for their thoughtful contributions and a big thank you to all our staff and families for making it such a special event.

Wishing all our families a happy and peaceful Easter break! 🌷✨
