πŸŽ“βœ¨ Heaven's Little Treasures Graduation 2026 βœ¨πŸŽ“

Where has this year gone? What an incredible year we've had at Heaven's Little Treasures Childminding!

Our days have been filled with laughter, muddy wellies, messy hands, big imaginations and even bigger smiles. We've climbed, splashed, planted, built, painted, explored and discovered so much together. Every puddle has been worth jumping in, every bug has been fascinating (well... almost every bug! πŸžπŸ˜‚), and every adventure has helped our little treasures grow into confident, curious and capable learners.

Following the EYFS, we've supported each child to learn through play, exploration and meaningful experiences. As early years pioneer Friedrich Froebel believed, children learn best through play and by connecting with the natural world. Watching our little ones explore outdoors, solve problems, build friendships and grow in confidence has been the greatest privilege.

Now comes the part we'd rather skip... πŸ’›

Last week we said goodbye to three of our wonderful children as they begin their exciting school journey. Although one of our little graduates has had to leave us a little earlier than expected due to their parents' work commitments, we hope they know just how loved they are and how much we'll miss them.

It really is bittersweet. We've celebrated first steps in learning, first friendships, funny conversations, countless cuddles, lots of "look what I can do!" moments, and more snack requests than we could ever count! Watching these little people grow has been such a joy, and while our hearts are a little heavier saying goodbye, they're also bursting with pride.

To celebrate our wonderful Class of 2026, we held a very special family graduation party, bringing together our children and their families to mark this important milestone. It was a huge success and such a lovely way to celebrate everything our little graduates have achieved. We were delighted to have our very own professional photographer with us to capture the occasion, and the photographs are simply amazing. They perfectly reflect the happiness, laughter and pride we all shared. Thank you to every family who joined us and helped make the day so special. These are memories we will treasure forever. πŸ’™πŸ“ΈπŸŽ‰

To all of our amazing parents, grandparents and carersβ€”thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your precious little people, for your kindness, encouragement and support throughout the year. Being part of your children's early years is something we never take for granted.

To our graduates... spread your wings, be kind, be brave, ask lots of questions, get messy, keep exploring and never lose that wonderful sparkle that makes you, you. We know you'll do amazing things.

We had such a laugh with our funny certificates including our personal families achievements haha

Once a little treasure, always a little treasure. πŸ’™

Congratulations, Class of 2026! We couldn't be prouder. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ“βœ¨

With love,

Sarah and Beth xx

🍽️🌈 Mealtimes Matter at Heaven's Little Treasures 🌈🍽️

We know that busy family life can make mealtimes challenging, but eating together whenever possible can have a huge impact on children's development and relationship with food.

At Heaven's Little Treasures, we encourage children to:

✨ Sit at the table during meals and snacks
✨ Develop positive table manners such as saying "please" and "thank you"
✨ Become independent by feeding themselves and learning to use cups, spoons and forks
✨ Explore a variety of foods at their own pace in a relaxed, positive environment

As children grow, we encourage the move from highchairs to sitting at the table with others, helping them learn through role modelling and social interaction. Remember, mealtimes can be messy – and that's perfectly normal! Mess is part of learning. 😊

We've also included important information about food safety for children under 5, including choking hazards and how to safely prepare foods such as grapes.

Please take a look through our new mealtime guidance posters for ideas and tips to support healthy eating habits at home. Together, we can help our little treasures develop a lifelong love of food and positive mealtime experiences. ❀️

πŸŒžπŸ–οΈ Beach Adventure Day at Heaven's Little Treasures Childminding πŸ–οΈπŸŒž

This week we enjoyed a wonderful trip to the beach where the children explored, discovered, and had lots of fun in the fresh air!

We used buckets and spades to dig, build, and investigate the sand, helping to develop creativity, imagination, and fine motor skills. The children also enjoyed rolling and kicking a ball along the beach, supporting their physical development, coordination, and teamwork.

One of the highlights of the day was rolling down the sand dunes, which brought plenty of laughter while helping to build confidence, balance, and gross motor skills.

Our beach adventure linked closely to the EYFS by encouraging physical development, communication and language, understanding the world, and personal, social and emotional development through exploration, play, and shared experiences.

What a fantastic day of learning through play! πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈπŸ’™

We were delighted to welcome Panda Paramedic today, who took time out of her busy day to visit our children and teach us all about staying safe, when and how to dial 999, and what to do if someone needs an ambulance.

πŸ“šπŸΌ As well as being a paramedic, Dawn is also the author of the Panda Paramedic children's books. The children enjoyed listening to a lovely story about Panda Paramedic this morning .
We were delighted when she kindly gifted our setting a copy of one of her stories, which the children are looking forward to enjoying together next week. Thank you for your generosity and for inspiring our young learners! ❀️✨

They also had the opportunity to explore real paramedic equipment, including bandages, plasters, breathing equipment and neck braces. We even had a go at lifting the paramedic bag and discovered just how heavy it is!

Experiences like these help children develop their understanding of the world around them, build confidence in talking about people who help us, and encourage important conversations about health, safety and caring for others.

EYFS Links:
🩹 Understanding the World – Learning about people who help us and their roles in the community.
πŸ—£οΈ Communication and Language – Listening carefully, asking questions and engaging in discussions.
❀️ Personal, Social and Emotional Development – Developing awareness of safety, wellbeing and how to seek help in an emergency.
πŸ’ͺ Physical Development – Exploring and handling equipment safely using gross and fine motor skills.

Thank you, Panda Paramedic, for such an engaging and informative visit!

Over the last two weeks we’ve enjoyed visiting the Fireground Museum πŸš’βœ¨

The children had lots of fun exploring the different fire engines and learning about the history of firefighting through hands-on experiences and interactive displays. It was a fantastic opportunity to spark curiosity, encourage conversations, and help the children learn about how things have changed over time.

Outings like these are so valuable in early years, giving children the chance to learn through real-life experiences while building confidence, communication skills, and social development along the way.

As childminders, being able to offer these smaller group experiences means children can explore at their own pace, ask questions freely, and fully engage in the learning while still having lots of fun. ❀️

A lovely two weeks of making memories and learning together! 😊xx

Over the last two weeks we’ve enjoyed visits to the zoo with the children, making sure everyone was included and able to take part in the experience. πŸ¦πŸ’βœ¨

Experiences like these are so important for early years children. They help support communication and language development, build confidence, encourage curiosity, and give children opportunities to learn about the world around them through real-life, hands-on experiences.

While we were there, we overheard a parent say to her child, β€œWell your nursery doesn’t take you on trips!” β€” and it really highlighted one of the many benefits of a smaller childminding setting. ❀️

As childminders, we are able to provide valuable outings and community experiences in small groups, giving children more opportunities to explore, ask questions, build social skills, and learn in a calm, nurturing environment at their own pace.

The children loved seeing all the different animals and it was wonderful to watch their excitement, curiosity, and confidence grow throughout the visits. 😊xx
