Nursery Cook – Brighter Minds Childcare
Hours: 35 per week, Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Location: 12 Gwendoline Road, NP11 6DD
Start date: 5th January 2025

Brighter Minds Childcare is looking for a dedicated Nursery Cook to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make homemade healthy meals for young children to enjoy – and parents happy knowing that they are eating freshly prepared meals.
🌟 What you’ll do
Prepare and serve nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
Cater for all dietary needs and allergies with care and creativity.
Keep our kitchen inspection‑ready, maintaining the highest food hygiene standards.
Plan menus that reflect diverse cultures and children’s preferences.
Work closely with our team to ensure mealtimes are positive, inclusive experiences.
✅ What we’re looking for
A current Food Safety Certificate and commitment to HACCP procedures.
Experience in catering or cooking for groups, ideally in childcare or education.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A friendly, flexible team player who values safeguarding and professionalism.
An enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

🌿 Preschool PACT Session 🌿

Last week we invited parents, grandparents, and carers into our preschool to take a closer look at the children’s developing interests and ideas. 💛

The environment is shaped by the children themselves — their curiosity, imagination, and creativity guide how our spaces grow and change. It was lovely to see families exploring the room, observing how the children’s interests have inspired new areas of play and learning.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and shared this special session with us, the children were so proud to show you what they’ve been busy creating and discovering! ✨

🍂 A Lovely Half Term in Preschool 🍂

Our preschool children have had a wonderful half term, full of curiosity, laughter, and exploration! 💛

We’ve spent time out and about in our local community, discovering new places, noticing changes in the season, and talking about the world around us. These experiences help the children build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. 🌿

It’s been such a joy to see their excitement and wonder as they explore, ask questions, and share what they’ve learned together.

🎃 Autumn Magic at Brighter Minds 🍁

Last week, we created our very own pumpkin patch for the children to freely access and explore, a cosy autumn space filled with pumpkins, hay , leaves, and all the colours of the season. 🍂✨

It’s been wonderful watching the children take the lead , lifting, rolling, counting, comparing, and creating their own games and stories. Every interaction has sparked language, curiosity, and imagination. 💭

At Brighter Minds, we believe in giving children the freedom to explore and discover at their own pace because that’s where the richest learning happens. 🌻

Yesterday, our leadership team attended Environments Fit for Children’s Futures. A truly inspiring event bringing together leading voices in education and early years. 🌟

From exploring how environments can foster curiosity and independence, to reflecting on how values and pedagogy shape children’s learning journeys, it was a day filled with inspiration and fresh ideas.

We’re excited to bring these reflections back into Brighter Minds and continue shaping environments where children thrive 💡🌱
