If you only do 2 things to help you improve your parenting, make them:
1. Work on your temper, anxiety, guilt and triggers / so you can be a calmer role model, because children don’t do what we say, they do what we do (see my new book ‘How to be a Calm Parent’ 🌊for a whole heap on this!): https://amzn.to/3up0MfB
&
2. Learn what is happening in your child’s brain and what they are neurologically capable of. When we understand that they are not deliberately ‘being naughty’, but rather struggling with an immature brain, we are totally different in our response to them (more on brain development and what to expect at each age on ‘Beginnings’ 🌱- out in 4 months!): https://amzn.to/3Jmacwr

‘Promote the good health of children’
The updated EYFS Framework highlights the importance of teaching children about good oral health.
Good oral health habits need to be formed from the earliest age.
This mornings circle time saw the children singing ‘brush your teeth’ and reading ‘Clarabella’s Teeth’

RIP Jill Murphy
We are big fans of Whatever Next at Hightown Childcare - the tale of a baby bear who, together with a friendly owl, has an adventure to the moon before bath time.
For me the beauty of this story lies in the simplicity of both the words and the pictures. Such a simple concept of imaginary play brought to life in this gentle, heart-warming story. We’ve definitely based some around it and had our own rocket trips to space, complete with colander helmets.
Jill Murphy will be sadly missed, but her books are absolute classics and will be in pride of place on bookshelves for many years to come yet. RIP Jill.
