Debbie has been working on independent living skills with one of her post-16 students. She has built her confidence with bus journeys and now moved on to trains.

They consider safety aspects, features of a train station and identifying the right platform.

We are very proud of the way that she composed herself in a very different environment alongside the loud noises and busyness of the station.

And a quote from her:
"I said when I was younger that I would never go on a train and today I did!" 👏

Our students often struggle with exams and assessments due to fear of failure but Iwona provides a calm and safe place for learning and helps them to feel confident again ✔️🌟

Debbie has been working with one of our youngest students to establish a schedule which has supported him in reaching new limits in his learning.

This week, he read her the story ‘Dinosaur Roar’ independently, and they shared a couple more picture books together reflecting on character emotions.

No session goes by without this artist putting pencil to paper and creating a masterpiece! ⭐

Debbie would like to share her day with you….

“It all started with a Lego set. This young person asked me for every piece of Lego that he needed, while following the instruction manual and was able to calmly correct his muddle halfway through.
After he finished building it, he explained to me some history behind Lego - did you know that Lego was originally made of wood? 🤔
Furthermore, he eagerly showed me his mini figure collection and I contributed/watched them go into battle which was great fun!
There was even disappointment expressed when it was time for me to leave! 🙂 An amazing session!”
