FAQ: So, what actually happens in a TinyTalk baby signing class? 👶💬🎶
If you’ve never been to a TinyTalk class before, you might be wondering what to expect. Is it lots of sitting still? Lots of repetition? Are the babies expected to behave perfectly?
Absolutely not! 😂
TinyTalk is a relaxed, fun hour where babies and grown-ups can learn, play, sing, explore and socialise together - and there’s plenty of flexibility along the way.
💬 We learn some signs together
Each week has a different theme, and we introduce a handful of useful BSL signs alongside the spoken words. We practise them through songs, games and everyday activities, so you’re learning without it feeling like a lesson.
🎶 There’s LOTS of singing
Nursery rhymes, action songs and familiar favourites are a big part of our sessions. Adding signs to songs gives little ones lots of opportunities to watch, copy and join in at their own pace.
🫧 We play and explore
Bubbles, scarves, mirrors, parachutes and other sensory activities help keep little ones interested while giving them opportunities to explore movement, sounds, textures and visual experiences.
☕ And then there’s the grown-up bit…
Because TinyTalk isn’t just about baby signing. It’s also about finding your people.
There’s time to chat, have a cuppa, enjoy a biscuit and let the little ones play together. It’s a lovely opportunity to meet other parents/caregivers who are navigating the same wonderful (and sometimes slightly chaotic!) stage of life.
And most importantly…
There is absolutely no expectation that your baby will sit still for an hour! 🙌
Need to feed? Go for it.
Need to cuddle? Of course.
Need to walk around? Absolutely.
Need a little break? That’s fine too.
Come as you are, do what works for you and your little one, and enjoy the hour together. ❤️
Because at TinyTalk, we’re aiming for fun, connection and lots of lovely little moments.
