I am a qualified childminder based on a friendly family farm in Ringwood, Hampshire.

I provide a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow through hands-on experiences with nature and animals.

Thank you everyone who attended my Easter Stay and Play today. We had so much fun and was lovely catching up with the parents. 🥰

Another example of a typical morning set up, engaging the children to make hand overs simple and easy for both parent and child.

Book of the Month: Zog
We are excited to introduce our new Book of the Month initiative! Each month, the children will have the opportunity to explore a featured story in depth through a range of engaging activities.

This month, we are reading Zog by Julia Donaldson. The children are encouraged to get to know the story well by decorating their favourite characters and exploring story sequencing to help build narrative understanding.

On the story table, we’ve created an interactive follow-on activity using dragons, princesses, and padlocks. In this imaginative play, the dragons have captured the princesses, and it’s up to the children to rescue them by finding the correct keys to unlock the padlocks. This hands-on approach not only supports comprehension but also builds fine motor skills and problem-solving abilities.

The activity will be refreshed once the children begin to lose interest, ensuring ongoing engagement and learning.

Last week, we focused on the theme "All About Me" with a special emphasis on where we live. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the different types of homes people can live in. They were especially engaged in finding pictures that resembled their own houses and sharing them with their peers.

Through group discussions, the children were able to talk about who they live with, helping to build their confidence and communication skills. We also incorporated a hands-on activity where the children used the wooden blocks to build simple structures that represented houses. This not only supported their understanding of home types but also encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor development.

It was a lovely way to begin our learning journey by celebrating each child’s identity and background.
