The rangers put the moth light into our garden overnight to see what they could find. In the morning when we looked we found some amazing moths! Some of the moths we found were called a Black arches, swallow prominent and a poplar Hawk Moth! I wonder if you can find any in your garden?

It's definitely all sunshine and rainbows.

Even when the sun isn't shining.

At Kids Love Nature, a rainy day isn't a day spent indoors waiting for better weather. It's another opportunity to splash through puddles, discover something new, laugh a little louder, and make memories together.

Whatever the season, whatever the weather, you'll find us outdoors—as long as it's safe to do so. Because we believe childhood shouldn't pause for the forecast.

After all, children rarely remember whether the sun was out.

They remember how they felt. 🌿

Every extraordinary childhood starts with someone imagining it could be different.

For Kids Love Nature, that someone was our two founders.

Working in childcare, they saw that childhood was becoming increasingly rushed, structured and spent indoors. They imagined something else. A place where children could spend their days following butterflies and discovering the world through real experiences.

That vision became Kids Love Nature.

At Avon Heath, childhood unfolds among the woodland, open skies and wildlife of the country park. Every muddy puddle, bug hunt, campfire, den and moment of quiet wonder becomes part of a childhood worth remembering.

We can't give children more years to be young.

But together, we can make those years richer, fuller and filled with extraordinary experiences they'll carry with them for life.

Because the best childhood memories aren't made in a hurry. They're lived. 🌿

Caterpillars! 🐛

Back in April time we got some caterpillars and watched them grow, getting bigger and bigger until they turned into butterflies! Since then we have been very curious about the life cycle of caterpillars and other animals.
This week with our artist we made a paper mache caterpillar egg on a leaf, and a caterpillar. As we were making this, we found a caterpillar in our garden that looked very similar to the one we were making!
Next we are going to make a paper mache chrysalis!

We have been enjoying looking at maps of the world and different countries flags. This leaf to us making our own maps of our garden. We have used our own maps to find treasure in and around the nursery!

Happy Earth Day! 🌍

The children have been enjoying painting their own earths and decorating them in stickers which explain ways in which we can look after the world. 💡
They have also been looking after our sea creatures by 'cleaning the ocean', removing all of the plastic and putting it into the recycling bin. ♻️🫍
We have also been enjoying stories and conversations about deforestation and palm oil, and other ways to protect our Earth! 🌳

With our artist this week, the children have been creating spring tissue art for the windows. The children cut the pieces into sizes to fit on the shapes. We have also been looking at a wren and a pigeons nest, and we are also making our own hurds nest as well.

We have been preparing our vegetable garden for spring, digging, planting and watering seeds to grow new plants and foods! 🥔🌱

The children have also enjoyed some pond dipping in the sunshine this week, exploring the pond wildlife. The children found a couple newts, which they they were very interested in, watching them swimming around before putting them safely back into the pond! 🦎
