🥋🌟 Student Success! 🌟🥋

A huge congratulations to our Year 8 student, Sage, who achieved fantastic success at the Southern Taekwondo Championships last Sunday!

Sage won a 🥇 Gold Medal in the Taekwondo Patterns event for his grade, earning the title of Southern Champion.

He also showed incredible determination in the sparring competition, where he competed against opponents who were both older and of a higher belt grade. Despite the challenge, Sage fought brilliantly and came away with a well-deserved 🥉 Bronze Medal.

What an outstanding achievement! We are incredibly proud of your hard work, resilience and dedication.

Congratulations, Sage! 👏

A small snapshot of our wonderful Year 11 leavers following their Leavers' Assembly. 💙🎓

It was a lovely opportunity for students to sign each other's shirts, share memories, and celebrate the end of an important chapter together. To mark the occasion, everyone also enjoyed an ice cream as a small parting gift.

We wish all of our Year 11 students every success as they begin their next adventure. Good luck—you'll always be part of our school community! 🍦✨

✨ What a term it's been! ✨

This term has been absolutely packed with memorable moments, incredible achievements, and fantastic events. Over the coming days, we'll be taking a look back and sharing some of our highlights with you.

🎭 First up... our Summer Showcase from June!

What an incredible evening of music, dance and drama, brilliantly brought to life by the amazing talents of our students. These wonderful photographs were captured by one of our talented Year 10 Photography students, perfectly capturing the atmosphere of a truly special event.

A huge congratulations and thank you to Ms Urquhart, Subject Leader for Music, and Mrs Bailey, Subject Leader for Dance and Drama, along with every member of staff and every student who performed or worked behind the scenes. Your hard work, creativity and dedication made the evening such an outstanding success.

👏 We are so proud of everyone involved!

🌞 PGL Trip Update! 🌞

Another little update coming your way from our PGL adventure!

Everyone enjoyed a proper old-fashioned fry-up this morning, with cereals and fresh fruit too to fuel up for the busy day ahead. 🍳🥣🍎

Groups are now getting stuck into sensory games, with orienteering up next! It's definitely hot and sticky out there, but the students are absolute legends—throwing themselves into every activity while looking out for one another every step of the way. ❤️

They're an absolute pleasure to support, and it's fantastic to see their teamwork, encouragement, and smiles shining through. So proud of every single one of them! 🌟

As we approach the payment deadline for Enrichment Week activities tomorrow, we would like to remind families to review and confirm their bookings via ParentPay.

At present, we still have availability across a number of activities and trips, with the exception of Own a Pony and Branching Out, which are now fully booked.

To help ensure that as many activities as possible can run successfully and that students enjoy a varied and rewarding Enrichment Week experience, we encourage families to consider any remaining opportunities that may be of interest.

For your convenience, we have attached the Enrichment Week booklet, which contains details of all available activities. If your child would like to be added to an activity or trip with available spaces, please contact us as soon as possible at [email protected].

Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Navigating Teen Digital Lives
The Children’s Commissioner has released a practical guide titled "What I Wish My Parents Knew," aimed at supporting parents as they manage the complexities of their children's digital lives.

With direct input from young people, the publication offers an honest look at how teenagers experience the online world and provides straightforward advice on how families can approach screen time and internet safety together.

Rather than advocating for outright bans, the guide encourages open communication and realistic boundaries, focusing on key areas such as:
• Managing digital habits: Understanding smartphone use, the temptation of constant scrolling, and how to establish healthy screen-free routines
• Open communication: Practical tips from teens on how to talk about their online experiences without making them feel judged or defensive.
• Setting collaborative boundaries: How to implement firm but fair digital rules that respect a teenager's growing independence while keeping them safe.

The guide and its accompanying youth activity pack are free to access and serve as a useful tool for any parent looking to better understand and support their teen's digital world.

Parenting today can feel overwhelming — especially when childhood looks so different from what we grew up with. There’s no manual, and it can be hard to

🚨 Half Term Safety Reminder 🚨

Sussex Police are asking parents and carers to speak with their children about staying safe during the half term break, especially around large gatherings planned on Brighton seafront.

Please encourage young people to look after each other, stay aware of their surroundings, and leave any situation that feels unsafe.

Let’s help keep everyone safe this half term 💙
