This has been such a difficult post to write because Iβm not sure Iβll ever find the words to truly express how grateful I am.
To our incredible children, families, staff, the Friends of Richmond Methodist School and our wonderful governors β thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the end of my journey at RMS so incredibly special.
Every celebration has been filled with so much love and kindness. From our OPAL Play Afternoon, to a lovely meal with FORMS, drinks and picnics with colleagues, the beautiful surprise video of all the children, gorgeous surprise singing and the most heartfelt Leavers' Assembly β every single moment has been one I will treasure forever.
I've been slowly reading my way through every card and every message in my beautiful leather-bound memories book. I'm taking my time because each page brings another smile... and another few happy tears. Every memory reminds me just how privileged I have been to spend the last seven years with such an amazing school community.
I have been completely overwhelmed by your generosity. My house is overflowing with gorgeous flowers, my fridge is packed with chocolate treats, Iβve got lovely vouchers to spend and I don't think I'll need to buy a bottle of wine for quite some time! π«πΈπ·
One gift that will always hold a very special place in my heart is the beautiful white gold bracelet from the children, parents and staff. Its meaning of connection and everlasting love couldn't be more perfect. I'll wear it with enormous pride and think of my RMS family every time I look at it (I havenβt taken it off since I got it!).
Thank you, too, for every thoughtful gift, every hug, every conversation and every kind word. You have given me the most wonderful ending to my time at Richmond Methodist School and for that I will be forever grateful.
It has been the greatest privilege to serve this amazing school community. I will cherish every memory of my RMS family and will always be βProud to be RMS, doing all the good I can, for all'β¦ and be forever immortalised in LEGO! π

ππ Quad Kids Success! ππ
A huge congratulations to all of our amazing 'Quad Kids' athletes who represented the school at the recent competition hosted by Richmond School.
We took three teams to compete against schools from across the local area: πββοΈ a mixed Year 1 & 2 Team πββοΈ a mixed Year 3 & 4 Team π and a mixed Year 5 & 6 Team.
The children demonstrated fantastic determination and sportsmanship throughout the day, taking part in four challenging events: long-distance run, sprint, long jump and vortex throw.
We are incredibly proud to share the results; our Year 1 & 2 Team placed 1st placeπ₯, our Year 3 & 4 Team placed 2nd π₯and our Year 5 & 6 Team also finished a fantastic 1st place π₯ overall.
This was a fantastic achievement, especially in the hot and challenging conditions. Every child gave their best effort and represented our school brilliantly.
A big thank you to Richmond School and Sixth Form College for organising and running such a successful event.

What a pleasure to walk around the grounds of Richmond Methodist Primary School.
Children are taught to appreciate and nurture the environment, from their first to last day. From watering the plants outside their classrooms, to joining the Eco and Garden clubs, hands on experience is so important.
In the Community Garden, there are established fruit trees. Vegetables are grown from seed and cooked on the premises. Invaluable that children can actively see how food grows and not just a product in a shop.
The garden also serves as a peaceful area, in a busy day, encouraging wellbeing.
There is also a forest area and school, for children to play and learn in a safe setting. Around the perimeter young saplings are being planted. Pupils can watch and help them grow.
Thank you for allowing us to see this invaluable resource and the opportunity it gives. Also, to everybody who gives their time and finance to enrich and respect the environment.

πππ **Nursery Leavers' Stay and Play 2026** πππ
What a truly special and emotional afternoon we shared at our Nursery Leavers' Stay and Play as we celebrated our wonderful Ribblesdale Class of 2026 and all they have achieved this year.
Our hearts were full as the children proudly sang their leavers' song, with the beautiful words:
π΅ *"The future's looking good to me... I'm ready as I can be... I'm ready to go."* π΅
And they really are ready.
Over the past year, our children have grown in confidence, curiosity and independence. They have learned through play, made wonderful friendships, discovered new talents and embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and joy. We couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them as they prepare for the exciting next step in their learning journey. They are all so special.
A heartfelt thank you to all our parents and carers for your love, trust and support throughout the year. Working in partnership with you has enabled your children to flourish, and we are so grateful to have shared this special chapter with your families.
A very special thank you also goes to our incredible Nursery team β **Mrs Thompson, Mrs Kyme and Mrs Beadle**. Your dedication, patience, kindness and unwavering commitment have created a nurturing environment where every child has felt safe, valued and loved. You have given our youngest learners the very best start to their education.
For me personally, today was incredibly emotional. It was the first of my "lasts" as Headteacher of Richmond Methodist School and I couldn't have wished for a more fitting occasion. Watching our youngest children sing with such confidence, excitement and hope for the future was both joyful and moving.
To all of our Nursery leavers⦠keep smiling, keep believing in yourselves and keep 'doing all the good you can'. We know your futures are very bright indeed.
πWe are so proud of you all. π
πI'm going to miss you all so much. π

ππΈπ€ Rocksteady Summer Concert Success! π€πΈπ
What a fantastic afternoon we had at our recent Rocksteady Summer Concert!
Our talented young musicians performed brilliantly in front of their families and the rest of the school, showcasing the songs they have been working so hard to learn throughout the year. Their confidence, enthusiasm and musical skills were wonderful to see; they truly entertained the audience from start to finish.
The children were absolutely amazing, and the audience loved every moment of the afternoon. We are incredibly proud of all the pupils for their dedication, commitment and hard work as they developed their skills and learnt such a fantastic range of songs throughout the year.
A huge thank you to Toby for all of his hard work, encouragement and support throughout the year, helping our young musicians grow in confidence and performance skills.
And finally, a very big well done to all of our Rocksteady performers β you were outstanding! βπΆππ
