You may have noticed a lot of work happening at school over summer..we’ve been busy this summer developing our Nurture Nest – a dedicated space where children can access personalised provision, sensory circuits, a brand-new sensory room, and a welcoming space for parenting meetings and support!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful community for helping us make this happen. Your donations of paint, resources and other essentials have made such a difference.

And a big shout-out to our amazing team, who have been working hard and have now completed the first coat!

There’s still more to do, but we’re so excited to see our vision coming to life. We can’t wait to share the finished Nurture Nest with you all in the new year!

If you can lend a hand in anyway, do let us know!

Some reminders of our uniform at Riccall CP for those of you already purchasing those back to school essentials. Our Reception class slightly differs to allow for a flexible curriculum with comfort in mind. Not long until our doors open for the 2026/27 academic year! If you require any items from our pre-loved clothing please contact Friends of Riccall School.

As another wonderful school year comes to an end, we would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to our entire Riccall Primary School community.

Your continued support, encouragement, and partnership throughout the year—especially as we've embraced changes and new opportunities—has meant so much to us. Together, we've created a positive, caring, and inspiring environment where our children have been able to learn, grow, and thrive.

We are incredibly proud of everything our pupils have achieved and grateful to our dedicated staff, supportive families, governors, volunteers, and friends of the school for all that you do. We have said goodbye to some excellent members of staff moving onwards and welcomed some new staff to our team. Your kindness, commitment, and community spirit make Riccall Primary School such a special place.

We wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break. We hope you enjoy making wonderful memories with your family and friends.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September for another exciting year of learning, laughter, and success.

Have a fantastic summer, and thank you once again for being part of the Riccall Primary School family!

After nine incredible years, the time has come to say goodbye to a place that has been so much more than just work!

Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of working alongside some truly amazing colleagues, some who have been like a family to me when I have needed it the most.

Every child that has walked through my door has taught me something valuable. Each individual holds such a special place in my heart, that I carry with me. Watching the children of Riccall grow has been one of the greatest rewards of my career. A huge thank you to the parents who have trusted and supported me with the education of their little humans.

While I’m excited for what lies ahead, leaving this community is incredibly difficult. Schools are made of people, and it’s the people here who have made these past nine years so special. Saying goodbye means saying goodbye to daily routines, familiar faces, shared jokes, and a place that has become woven into the fabric of who I am.

Whilst this chapter of my book is now coming to a close, the characters within it will inform my story for many chapters to come - the children, the colleagues, the parents. I would like to wish every person who has been a part of my Riccall adventure a fantastic forever.

Love and thanks always,
Miss Simpson

Year 1 ventured to Wagamama for a school trip to learn all about Japanese cuisine. They measured, weighed, made smoothies and tasted lots of unusual ingredients. They finally were able to have a yummy lunch and took home their very own apron- Thank you to Wagamama for your generosity and allowing us to visit you! Wagamama may translate to 'naughty child' but our children were true ambassadors for the school and showed impeccable manners.

This morning, Year 5 were using our Geography investigative skills! We decided which location we thought would be best for solar panels around school. Year 5 then went to check the location investigating things like sun coverage and safety. Finally, we interviewed adults around school to see what they thought about the location and the solar panels!

Tomorrow Year 6 will be selling their products they have been developing for enterprise week. They will be selling them in the hall and have crafted various things such as cloud dough and jelly fish monsters to name a few.

Children are encouraged to bring in no more than £1 to buy items they may want. All proceeds go towards the Y6 Pool party.

Today we had a visit from our local MP, Keir Mather who led a fantastic assembly telling us of the day to day life of an MP and all the things he does for our local community. Student Council put him to the test with some questions as well as other children in the audience. We really appreciated him taking his time to come and see us!
