Our final newsletter of the academic year is now available, celebrating the many achievements, events and special moments from the summer term. From Sports Days and beach visits to pupil achievements, transition events and Year 11 celebrations, this edition captures the memories, milestones and successes that have made the end of the year so special.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed articles, photographs and updates to this issue. We hope you enjoy looking back on another fantastic term at Christ the Word Catholic School.

Pupils of the Week – Final Celebration of the Academic Year

A huge congratulations to our final Pupils of the Week for this academic year.

As we celebrate our last winners of the year, we'd also like to say well done to all of our pupils for their hard work and successes throughout the year. We hope you have a wonderful and well-deserved summer break!

Year 10 pupils had the opportunity to develop and practice their interview skills during our Mock Interview Day with a range of external employers and further education providers. They all represented the school brilliantly, demonstrating confidence, professionalism, and enthusiasm throughout the day. A huge thank you to all our external partners for giving their time to interview our pupils and provide valuable feedback. Well done, Year 10 - you should all be very proud!

With warmer temperatures expected again next week, please ensure that pupils come to school prepared for the heat.

Pupils are able to wear their School PE Kit for the remainder of term, if they wish.

We ask that Lower School Pupils also bring a Sun Hat, water bottle and that sun cream has been applied in the morning before school. Upper school are also advised to bring a water bottle and apply sun cream before school.

We are looking to extend our Peripatetic music sessions to include pupils from year 4 through to year 9 from September 2026.

Denbighshire Music Co-operative will provide the professional tutoring during the school day.

Musical Options Available are:
• Singing
• Piano
• Violin
• Guitar
• Drums
• However some other musical instruments may be available on request.

The peripatetic music sessions are £129.49 per term and will cover 10 lessons for 20 minutes each.

For families who are means tested for free school meals, there is potential for us to apply for a grant which may reduce the cost.
