Year 10 GCSE pupils have been learning about Planes and Axis in their PE theory lessons this week. We used jelly babies to model how the body moves through the different planes, rotated them on the 3 different axis, then linked each action to real sporting examples. This creative approach helped them clearly understand how athletes move through the sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes, and how these movements relate to performance in different sports. The class showed great engagement and enjoyed the jelly babies at the end of the lesson.

What a fantastic day Year 7 had taking part in Crucial Crew! The experience forms an important part of the Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) curriculum at Rhyl High School.

Pupils participated in eight engaging workshops delivered by a range of community health and safety organisations, including St John Ambulance, North Wales Police, Canal and River Safety, Network Rail, DASU, RASASC, WCD Young Carers and local addiction support services. These sessions provided valuable knowledge, practical skills and strategies to support learners in making informed and safe choices in everyday life.

Year 7 represented the school superbly—they listened carefully, engaged positively and contributed confidently throughout the day. The visiting agencies were extremely impressed with their attitude and participation, and pupils came away with memorable and meaningful experiences.

Da iawn, Year 7!
