Bees Knees Day Nursery

☀️ A Day Full of Fresh Air & Fairy Tales! 📚
We’ve had the absolute best day out and about today!
☀️ This Morning our energetic toddlers and pre-schoolers headed down to the park. We had loads of fun running around, climbing, swinging and exploring🌳
📖 This Afternoon our lovely babies took a trip to the local library. We officially signed up and kicked off our Summer Reading Challenge! They loved looking at the colourful picture books. 📚
We love packing our days with a mix of active outdoor play and quiet, educational adventures.

☀️ Duck, Duck, Turtle! 🐢🦆
Our pre-schoolers and babies took off to Brickfield Pond for a sunny afternoon adventure! We did some serious wildlife tracking and spotted:
Swans and geese showing off their babies. 🦢
Coots and lots of beautiful butterflies. 🦋
The resident turtles catching some afternoon rays. 😎
We also fed the ducks, though our little adventurers were mostly focused on devouring their own orange slices at snack time. 🍊The perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon ☀️☀️

Here’s what your little adventurers have been up to:
💦 our blossoming babies kept cool with a fun water play session splashing with balls!
🏴‍☠️ Pre-School solved clues and followed a secret map on an epic treasure hunt to find the hidden gold coins! There was so much excitement and big smiles when they finally discovered the loot! 🪎 They also enjoyed bowling, made a giant flower picture for the bees 🐝🌸 and practiced independence by peeling oranges 🍊 and carefully using knives to chop pears for snack! 🔪🍐
Then we all came together for a lovely outdoor picnic and a refreshing ice-lolly treat! 🧺🍦☀️

Today, we want to say a massive thank you to all the wonderful dads, grandads, stepdads, and special role models who make our little learners smile every single day. Thank you for all the laughs, the bedtime stories, the drop-off hugs, and everything you do behind the scenes. You are your little one's real-life superhero! 🦸‍♂️✨

🦖 What a ROAR-SOME week of dinosaur fun! We were living in the Jurassic period last week 🦕
Our little palaeontologists had a fantastic time learning all about the prehistoric world through lots of hands-on, messy play. Here’s a look at what we got up to:
🔨 Rescued baby dinos from their eggs using hammers
🧊 Worked hard to free dinosaurs trapped in ice
🌋 Conducted a cool science experiment to make bubbling lava
🕵️‍♂️ Went on an exciting scavenger hunt to find hidden dinos
🥣 Whipped up prehistoric treats in our dinosaur mud kitchen
🧪 Sorted dinosaurs into colours using tweezers for fine motor practice
Safe to say, it has been a week full of big imaginations, excitement and amazing curiosity! 🦕🦖🦕

Our babies had a fantastic time exploring dinosaurs in the mud kitchen today! 🦖🌾
Even our tiniest joined in the prehistoric fun! They could barely reach, but they managed brilliantly and didn't let that stop them from digging right in! 🦕
They made such a lovely mess, but we love it! Even though they’re still finding their voices, they were communicating so much in their own way—lots of babbles, big smiles, and plenty of dinosaur roars!
🦕 Sensory play like this is amazing for their little hands, brains, and confidence. Muddy hands definitely mean happy hearts 💕 🦖🦕

🌊 Diving into World Ocean Day! 🐠💙

Last week, our little explorers became true ocean protectors with hands-on sensory play! Here’s what we got up to:
🧼 The Eco-Rescue: The children saved ocean animals trapped in "pollution" during water play and gave them a thorough wash!
🐬 Ocean Facts: We learnt about different sea creatures, what they eat, and shared our favourites.
🔨 Cornflake Sand: We used hammers to crush cornflakes, making our own sand for mark-making.
🐚 Play Dough Art: The children finished the week with beautiful shell prints in our sand play dough.

We are so proud of our creative young ocean guardians! 🐚🦀✨

🐝 We are officially buzzing with excitement! 🐝
To celebrate World Bee Day this week, our little learners started a very special journey towards earning our Bumblebee-friendly Early Years Award with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust! 🎉Our busy bees have been hard at work:
✨ Exploring fun, bee-themed sensory activities
🌸 Making handmade "bee bombs" (wildflower seed balls) to take home to plant in their gardens.
🧠 Learning all about why these fuzzy little helpers are so important to our planet
We are so proud of how enthusiastic the children are about protecting nature. Keep an eye out for more of our upcoming bee-friendly adventures! 💛🖤
