With around 650 pupils, the school is large enough to create a ‘buzz’ but small enough for all to flourish and to know one another. There are ten Boarding houses and all meals are taken within them, further reinforcing the family and caring atmosphere. Repton encourages a conscious equilibrium in all things, encouraging pupils to adopt a healthy balance between their studies, sport, activities of all kinds and rest, so that they can emerge as rounded, multi-faceted individuals. The sense of balance that every Reptonian – from the age of 3 to 18 - benefits from is shaped by our five pillars: Pastoral Care; Academia; Sport; Extra Curricular and our Spirit of Place. Our pupils achieve in the classroom because they never have to prioritise academic achievement over their love of theatre, their aptitude for sport or their passion for music. Repton School is a very special place to study. Founded in 1557, the co-educational school is an integral part of the village of Repton in South Derbyshire and is based around a 12th Century Augustinian Priory and its stunning Garth and Cloisters. With 1000 years of education history behind us, the traditional values of encouraging pupils to aim high whilst showing respect for all are still of utmost importance, however, Repton is undoubtedly modern in terms of practice and outlook.
