With the generous funding from The Honor Frost Foundation and The Oxford Centre for Maritime Archaeology, Graduate students in maritime archaeology at the University of Southampton and the University of Oxford have come together to organise this exciting inaugural event. We hope this symposium will encourage early career researchers and current graduate students in maritime archaeology and related

MAGS 2027 - 1 MONTH UNTIL THE DEADLINE!

The 7th Maritime Archaeology Graduate Symposium (MAGS) will take place in 2027 at Aix-Marseille University (AMU) and is proudly sponsored by the Honor Frost Foundation and Aix-Marseille University.

The deadline is approaching! Make sure to submit your application and join us in Aix-en-Provence in March 2027.

Call for Abstracts Now Open!

The 7th Maritime Archaeology Graduate Symposium (MAGS) will take place in 2027 at Aix-Marseille University (AMU) and is proudly sponsored by the Honor Frost Foundation and Aix-Marseille University.

We invite early-career researchers in maritime archaeology to submit abstracts or posters and participate in this international conference. The Symposium welcomes papers focusing on the eastern Mediterranean or contributions from maritime archaeologists from the eastern Mediterranean region.

Bursary Applications

Bursaries will be available for scholars intending to present at MAGS 2027 who are based in Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon, or Syria. This call is open only to early-career researchers (current postgraduates or graduates who have completed in the previous 2 years) who have had a paper or poster accepted at MAGS 2027.
