Welcome back everyone!

We've made it through the summer - hopefully lots of good memories made full of laughter and fun. And now with a sigh of relief for some it's back to school - back to routines and missing uniform and packed lunches and homework.

We hope everyone has a brilliant first day back and a fantastic year at Arkleston Primary.

Oh and of course it wouldn't be a parent council message if we didn't mention that we have a meeting coming up and would love to see you all. Everyone is welcome. Keep your eyes peeled for more info!

The Night Before P1

’Twas the night before P1, and all through Renfrew,
The uniforms were ready, the new school shoes too.
The bags by the door, the lunchboxes packed,
With everything ready — or so parents all hoped, in fact!

Tomorrow’s the day they’ll head off to school,
With brand-new routines and a whole load of rules.
A little bit nervous, a little bit proud,
Some excited, some quiet, some talking very loud.

Arkleston Primary is waiting tomorrow,
With new things to learn and new friends to follow.
There’ll be busy wee mornings and plenty to do,
And probably stories of “Guess what I did!” too.

So get some sleep — though that might be a fight,
Because school tomorrow is nearly in sight.
One last little cuddle, then lights out and bed,
Big day tomorrow — enough said.

So goodnight from Renfrew, it’s time for some rest,
Tomorrow’s the start of a brand-new quest.
New classroom, new faces, a year to get through —
Good luck to all our P1s at Arkleston Primary School!

We've seen all the photos over Facebook today. We get it. School is back for some of the other Scottish councils.
And yes we are jealous - the routine is very much needing restored 🙈
But 6 days left of the summer holidays guys!

FINAL REPORT.

Teachers:
Somehow survived another year without hiding in the AV room.

Children:
Have learned, grown, laughed... and still can't remember where they left their jumper.

Parents:
Made it through another year of seesaw messages, homework, come as you please days and trying to remember which day PE is.

P7s:
Ready for their next chapter. (Please don't forget us when you're famous.)

The Last Bell

The little hand you held so tight
Walks through those gates one final time.
The classrooms that once seemed so big
Have quietly become too small.

The years passed in packed lunches,
Reading books, school plays, sports days,
Forgotten PE kits, muddy shoes,
Friendships made and confidence found.

There were tears at the beginning.
There may be a few tomorrow too.

Not because they're little anymore,
But because they aren't.

Soon they'll be chasing new adventures,
Finding new friends, new teachers,
New corridors to get lost in,
New dreams to discover.

Tomorrow, though...

Take the photo.

Wait by the gate.

Wave just a little longer.

Because one ordinary school day
Has quietly become a memory
You'll carry forever.

To our amazing P7s—

Be brave.
Be kind.
Be curious.

And never forget where it all began.
