Scotland welcomes karate legend Shinichi Hasegawa - sponsorship opportunities
This August 14β16, Sh*tokai Scotland is proud to host Shinichi Hasegawa Sensei, a multiple World Kata Champion and one of Japanβs most revered karate masters, for a very special three-day seminar.
Our two organisations have shared a close bond for over 20 years, giving our students a direct path to world-class Japanese tuition. In 2024, thirty of our members travelled to Japan for a 10-day training and culture tour. Now Sensei is returning to teach us here at home; open to all, regardless of age or ability.
This year is special, Sensei will be joined by three senior instructors, two of whom won gold for Japan at the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo. Their teaching transcends language with no words, no barriers, just superb technique shared in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We believe our younger students especially will treasure the chance to learn from teachers who communicate purely through movement.
