Our whole school Christmas singalong is back!! After two years of missing this, we are delighted to have the hall filled with very excited children (and staff) ready to sing a variety of Christmas songs! Merry Christmas everyone! 🎅🏻🎄🤶🏼

2022 has been an exciting and busy year for us at Newmains Primary School with highlights including the opportunities to invite our parents/carers back in to the building to enjoy events with us.

Congratulations to our final Hot Chocolate Award winners for 2022! These pupils were chosen for demonstrating our school values. We are very proud of them!

We were delighted to welcome our parents/carers in to the school to enjoy our Christmas Show! The pupils’ singing and performing put smiles on everyone’s faces and filled the hall with festive joy!

Congratulations to our Head Teacher Award winners for this term! These pupils were selected for working hard in class, raising money for charity and being excellent role models. We are very proud of them.

Our Wee Pupil Council are DELIGHTED to share their fundraising total with you!

Their Spotacular Day raised an amazing £501.21 for Children in Need!

Just a reminder that tomorrow we are having a Come as You Please Spotacular Day to raise money for Children in Need! Pupils are encouraged to wear something spotty or colourful.

Since it's almost time for the children to start writing their letters to Santa and many will be asking for computer games, we would like to share the Taming Gaming website with you. This site is recommended for parents/carers to check the content of computer games and to ensure they are suitable for their child's age. Our new Digital Leaders team has been very busy teaching both our Primary 1 classes and our Primary 2/1 and 3/2 classes how to log on to Chromebooks and to select Maths games to play.

We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded a prize from the Renfrewshire Attainment Team for our community involvement during Maths Week Scotland. What a lovely end to a fun filled week!

Today lots of our families enjoyed participating in the Newmains’ Family Maths Hunt around the local community. It was great to see our pupils working as a team with their parents/carers to solve the maths problems. Great work everyone!

Today’s big Maths Week Scotland challenge involved vertical learning and many pupils displaying excellent leadership skills!

Our pupils had great fun working in teams to complete an outdoor maths trail.

We had great fun during our first day of Maths Week Scotland! We used instruments to count the beat to music, used technology to play games, worked in teams and took our learning outdoors!

As part of our Maths Week Scotland celebrations, a group of our Primary 5 - 7 pupils visited Renfrew Care Home to play Bingo with some of the residents. The pupils had to work with their partners to solve maths problems to find the correct numbers to cross off.
We were so proud of how they displayed our school values when visiting the care home.

Mrs Dunn, Miss Gillon and Mr McGauley had a lovely time with our Hot Chocolate Award winners today! The pupils were given the award by staff for demonstrating our school values.

It was lovely to see so many parents/carers at our ‘Meet the Teacher’ session today!

Our pupils have had a great first week of learning this session! We are so proud of them for settling in to their new classes and enthusiastically participating in their lessons! 💙💛

We are looking forward to welcoming our pupils back tomorrow!
Our Primary 2 - 7 pupils should arrive at school for 9:00am and our new Primary 1 pupils should arrive between 9:15 and 9:30am.
We all have our fingers crossed for a dry morning! 🤞🏼

Today brings us to the end of our 2021/22 session and we will close at 1pm.

We would like to thank all our pupils for their hard work and our families for their support. We wish you all a lovely, relaxing Summer break!

The Newmains Eco Committee are delighted to share their good news. Last week we received our new Green Flag which will soon be flying proudly outside the school. Our focuses of Litter, School Grounds and Transport and lead to a cleaner playground, classes reusing materials in projects, more recycling possibilities, more children travelling in an active way to school, bike ability training and the outdoor space being utilised for learning. Throughout all of this ran the sustainable goal of Good Health.
To celebrate, the Eco Committee had a party in the Outdoor Classroom.
Well done and thank you to everyone who supported the Eco Committee in their endeavours.

This week our pupils at Mrs McNeil’s Lunch Club enjoyed making pizzas. They tasted delicious!
