On Wednesday 12th August, we explored the magic of a solar eclipse with our children. As we talked about how the Sun, Moon and Earth align, their faces lit up with curiosity and wonder. ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ™๐ŸŒ

You could feel the excitement ripple through the room โ€” that pure, unfiltered fascination children have when the world suddenly becomes bigger than they imagined.

When I asked one child what she thought the eclipse might look like, she paused, thought deeply, and then created her very own vision. Her interpretation was extraordinary โ€” creative, thoughtful, and completely unique. It genuinely took my breath away. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Moments like this remind me exactly why I love my job. The awe and wonder of a child is truly alive, and being able to witness it, nurture it, and give children the space to express their own ideas is a privilege I never take for granted.

What a lovely week we've had at The Beacon, filled with curiosity, discovery and plenty of hands-on learning!

The children have enjoyed exploring the magic of the solar eclipse this week. As we talked about the Sun, Moon and Earth, their natural curiosity and fascination really shone through as they explored this exciting event and shared their own ideas. ๐ŸŒž

We also had a lovely visit from the library bus, giving the children the opportunity to explore books and enjoy stories together. Books matter in the early years because they build language, thinking, emotional security, and a lifelong love of learning โ€” long before children can read a single word.

There has also been lots of fun with water play! Water play is one of the richest, most developmentally powerful experiences you can offer in the early years. It supports physical, cognitive, social-emotional and sensory development all at once โ€” and children are naturally drawn to it. ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Alongside all of these wonderful experiences, the children have continued to learn, explore and develop through play, making the most of every opportunity to discover something new.

What a fantastic week it's been at The Beacon, filled with curiosity, creativity, and meaningful moments of discovery!

Throughout the week, the children embraced a variety of hands-on experiences that encouraged them to explore, investigate, and learn through play. From sensory exploration and creative art activities to exciting science investigations, every day offered new opportunities to ask questions, build confidence, and develop new skills.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful volunteer, who shared a beautiful story about cultural and seasonal celebrations during the summer. It was lovely to see our Preschoolers, Toddlers, and Babies so engaged as they listened, learned, and explored new ideas together.

As another busy week comes to an end, we're so proud of the curiosity, kindness, and enthusiasm our children show every day. We can't wait to see what next week's adventures have in store! ๐Ÿ’šโœจ
