Today marks both an exceptional achievement and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our Fifth Form students.

As Headmaster Shaun Fenton said:

"These are exceptional results and a wonderful reflection of the hard work and commitment of our students, as well as the support provided by their teachers and families. We are enormously proud of this remarkable group of young people. These are our strongest-ever GCSE results, but what is particularly pleasing is the breadth of their achievement. Our students have excelled across the sciences, mathematics, humanities, languages and creative subjects, reflecting the many different talents and interests within this year group."

The next chapter begins in the RGS Sixth Form, with more than 30 A Level and BTEC pathways, alongside leadership opportunities, extensive co-curricular programmes and tailored guidance as students prepare for university, apprenticeships and future careers.

Congratulations to the GCSE Class of 2026 on a remarkable set of results. We are very proud of you.

Class of 2026 - Student Spotlight

From engineering to music, Nathan has pursued his passions at an impressively high level throughout his time at RGS. He is now heading to the University of Bath to study Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.

Nathan joined RGS in the Third Form. A talented musician, he studies the viola and sings at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and has embraced a wealth of musical opportunities at RGS. From winning RGS Young Musician of the Year 2026 to performing as a soloist, conducting and performing at venues including Battersea Arts Centre and The O2, music has been a huge part of his school experience.

For Nathan, music and science have always complemented one another. He credits the discipline and creativity developed through music with supporting his academic studies.

His passion for Formula One has fuelled his interest in engineering. As co-leader of the RGS Engineering Society, Nathan has explored the science behind modern F1 cars and has also achieved success in national Physics competitions, including the Isaac Physics Senior Physics Challenge and British Physics Olympiad.

Congratulations, Nathan. From music to engineering, your time at RGS has shown just how much can be achieved when different passions are given the opportunity to flourish side by side. University of Bath is lucky to have you.

Our Class of 2026 spotlights continue.

For Darcey, an exciting future in Law awaits at the University of Nottingham

Darcey joined RGS in the Sixth Form and, in just two years, has made her mark on school life. She became a Senior Prefect and mentor, while continuing to excel in lacrosse, representing England U21s at the World Games and coaching and refereeing younger players through the England Lacrosse Aspire Programme.

Alongside her sporting success, Darcey developed her interest in Law and the way it responds to a changing world, from AI and climate change to issues within sport. A visit to the Inns of Court and work experience with a law firm in West Sussex gave her the chance to explore the legal profession further.

Congratulations, Darcey. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved during your time at RGS and wish you every success at University of Nottingham

Our Class of 2026 has so much to celebrate, but their RGS story is about far more than their results.

Confidence gained, opportunities embraced, friendships made, passions pursued and the people who have supported them along the way. Hearing our students reflect on what RGS has meant to them, alongside the joy shared by students and families on Results Day, makes us incredibly proud.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. As Headmaster Shaun Fenton says, “Go well, do great things and return often. You’ll always be a Reigatian.”

Next stop, Durham University, where Lilla will study Biochemistry.

For Lilla, an interest in bioscience was sparked by her experience as a gymnast. After an injury, she became fascinated by the biological processes behind injury prevention and recovery, inspiring a deeper interest in biochemistry.

Lilla joined RGS in the First Form from Reigate St Mary's School and has embraced opportunities across school life throughout her seven years at RGS.

A Senior Prefect, House Captain, hockey player, musician and leader of the Junior Science Club, she has made a significant contribution to the RGS community. She has also completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

You may also recognise Lilla from our recent posts. This summer she took to the skies for a wing walk in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, raising more than £5,600.

Congratulations Lilla. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved and wish you every success at Durham University.

Four A*s and a place at Imperial College London to study Aeronautical Engineering.✈️

For Laith, the journey to Aeronautical Engineering began standing beneath Concorde at Aerospace Bristol. Fascinated by the aircraft that redefined flight, he became captivated by the engineering challenges behind high-speed travel and the science that makes flight possible.

Having joined RGS Sixth Form from The Alice Smith School in Kuala Lumpur, Laith quickly immersed himself in school life while pursuing his passion for aerospace engineering. For his Gold CREST Award project, he built a wind tunnel to investigate how nature-inspired surface patterns could reduce drag on an aircraft wing.

Beyond engineering, Laith has also taken on the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, plays club football and has led a coding competition through the school's Digital Committee.

Congratulations, Laith. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved and wish you every success as you continue your passion for engineering at Imperial College London.
