Year 3 launched their new instruction writing topic last week with a series of exciting practical activities. First, the children explored how Stone Age people made fire and discussed the importance of giving clear, precise instructions. They then put their instruction-giving skills to the test by directing adults on how to make a jam sandwich. What started as a simple task quickly turned into a very messy challenge! The children soon realised that instructions need to be detailed and accurate. It was a fun-filled morning of laughter, learning and lots of sticky fingers!

As part of Year 1's history topic on the Great Fire of London, they had lots of fun building Tudor houses. They found out that in 1666 houses were built very close together and with the help of Mr Steel, they then set their houses on fire! They could see how quickly the fire spread because the houses were too close - it was amazing to see the flames and the smoke.

Year 6 had a fantastic time on their residential trip to High Ashurst, taking part in a range of exciting activities including wall climbing, high ropes, archery, fire building and teamwork challenges. The children showed great enthusiasm, resilience and cooperation throughout the visit, embracing every opportunity to challenge themselves and try something new. Between activities, they enjoyed spending time with friends in the tents and around the campsite, while the hearty meals kept everyone fuelled for the adventures ahead.

Reception had a fantastic time celebrating our 'From Shore to Sea Floor' topic! Dressed in beachwear and sea-creature costumes, the children boarded our "plane" to Spain with their own boarding passes stamped by Captain Shark! ✈️ They enjoyed dancing, beach adventures, pirate ship exploration, seaside crafts, and finished the day with a refreshing ice lolly. A wonderful day full of imagination, laughter and learning!
