🚀 Blast off with reading! 📖✨

Our bespoke lessons are designed to ignite your childs love for learning. There is a lot of research to show that a child will be more ready to learn if they are interested in the topic/theme.
We often start of a tutoring session with a short book to grab your child's attention and give their learning context. We then create the learning activities to fit the theme of the book.

This work was all completed in 1 session, it was created to focus on improving fine motor skills, and engaging with early maths work.

We have just upgraded these Story Cubes to help support our Grammar and Puncuation sessions🎲✨

Storytelling cubes are a really good way to get creative and encourage imagination for creative writing.
These have been a firm favourite in tutoring sessions.

What are they? They’re dice with pictures on each face instead of numbers. You roll the cubes and then use the images that land face-up to invent and tell a story. It’s a simple, non-competitive game that's all about imagination! Once we have create our story to up level the vocabulary, add punctuation, discuss the grammar rule.

SPaG is very important in all writing (and can also help support fluency in reading).

It's 'Fractions Fun' in KS2! 🍕✂️🧱

Fractions, decimals and percentages are a big part of the Arithmetic test for Key Stage 2 SATS. The earlier this is supported and mastered, the easier it is.

From understanding numerators and denominators to finding equivalent fractions, all the way to multiplying and dividing factions, the children we help will become fraction superstars!

We love to get hands-on with all our maths, this really helps the visual and kinesthetic learners conquer the world of fractions before needed to get pencil to paper.

👋 Hello! I’m back!

I’m so excited to return to what I love most — supporting children on their learning journey.

With over 10 years of experience in the classroom and a strong background in one-to-one tutoring, I’ve now made the decision to fully step away from teaching in the classroom and focus solely on private tutoring. This allows me to give each child the personalised attention and support they truly deserve.

Recently, my family and I moved from Bexley to Reigate. We’ve spent the last two years on a big home renovation project — including the creation of my very own dedicated teaching 'classroom'! I feel incredibly lucky to have a warm, welcoming environment where I can tutor children and help them grow in confidence.

Leaving the classroom setting was a big decision, but it’s one I feel completely ready for. Tutoring gives me the chance to focus fully on each child’s individual needs, helping them thrive at their own pace in a calm and supportive setting.

📩 Please feel free to drop me a message here or send me an email if you’d like to chat about how I can support your child.

I look forward to hearing from you! 😊

Welcome to my tutoring page!

My name is Sarah White. I am an enthusiastic, reliable and fully qualified Primary School Teacher who is passionate about supporting children to reach their maximum potential.

My degree in Primary Education (Greenwich University) has a specialisation in Special Educational Needs and Children’s Literature. I have over 10 years experience teaching Primary aged children and over 15 years experience working with children from EYFS to Year 7. The majority of my time teaching has seen me in the role as a maths co-ordinator in Upper Key Stage 2.

While teaching I have gained experience helping children with different learning difficulties, including Dyslexia. I have further completed courses with the British Dyslexia Association to help support pupils with Dyslexia and I am keen to ensure that any challenges from Dyslexia are able to be overcome.

Every child is unique and every child has different areas of strength and areas they require support. As a tutor I love when a child has a lightbulb moment and everything finally begins to fall into place! Your child might be is finding something tricky, lacks confidence in an area, or simply needs an extra boost to achieve their potential.

My tutoring can cater to a wide range of needs, abilities and ages. I have a very strong understanding of KS2 SATs and an in-depth knowledge of what is expected for the selection tests (11+).

My lessons are typically face-to-face. I have a classroom at my home where I have all the learning resources ready to help your child. I can offer a safe learning environment where your child will learn and thrive. For special requests I can offer online classes.

Packages are available for 1:1 bespoke lessons and small groups. Please send me an email.
