What a great day World Book Day was this week! Children and staff dressed up in a variety of their favourite book characters or wore their Pj's or comfy clothes to read a book. The children enjoyed a variety or fun and engaging activities from ‘live’ lessons from the Literacy Trust, to a special assembly from Mrs Saunders & Mr Murtagh, and taking their books outside to read in this glorious weather. The children enjoyed the teachers swapping classes and being read to by someone different!

What a great time the whole school had on Monday afternoon, as we welcomed lots of parents into school to help with Christmas making afternoon! Carols and Christmas songs were played, hot chocolate pots made and amazing arts and craft decorations created. Everyone had a great time, so a big thank you to all the teachers & TA's who worked so hard preparing this fun and the parents who came to help. Thank you to Year 6 who decorated the trees as part of their Year 6 roles. It's feeling a lot like Christmas!

Year 5 had an astronomical day when the Observatory Science Centre, Herstmonceux, came to our school hall to give each Year 5 class an out-of-this-world space workshop. The Hall was transformed into a giant inflatable, space dome and once inside, the children were transported through space on a journey learning about the planets in our solar system, our Moon and our Sun. Thank you to our PTA for providing us with such a wonderful, space-tacular day!
