We’re really excited to be working with Cornish Metals to launch the Engineering Mining Academy — a brand‑new opportunity for our learners to explore the skills, careers and real‑world impact of the mining sector.
With South Crofty as a live case study, students will get hands‑on insight into an industry that’s becoming increasingly important for our community and the UK’s future.

Cornish Metals spoke to the publication The Mining Journal regarding the crucial need for training and education in order for the UK to meet its critical minerals ambitions.



That is why Cornish Metals has agreed a partnership with The Cornwall College Group to develop The Engineering Mining Academy, which will provide students with insights into the skills, knowledge and career opportunities within the mining sector, with the opportunity to use South Crofty as real-world case study.
